This place has some HISTORY. Nice to dine in a place which goes long back. I ordered a chicken entree. It was salty and to my liking. The people are friendly and accommodating. I wish I ordered something else. And they are also open till late.Their bar and decor is cool. Not sure if I will be back.

The atmosphere is great. There wasn’t live music the night my husband and I were there. I’m sure that would have added to the ambiance. Feels like you’re in an old western. I ordered The chili burger, it was good. My husband ordered the French dip. He enjoyed it a lot. The queso was just okay so I don’t think we’d order that again. OverallFun experience. We’d come back if we are ever back out this way!

Unfortunately after all the hype about this place l was underwhelmed. Their beer selection is uninspiring with the same old mass produced bottled brands. We got the antelope strips which were quite good. I wish l could say the same for the BBQ mesquite brisket. I was told it was slow cooked for hours but it was rather tough, overcooked and tasteless and the sauce was nothing special. The potato salad tasted mostly like raw onions. The beans were average. Basically it was an average meal. Nothing special. The ambiance and service was good. I would come back again and just get appetizers.

Their Brisket Nachos were possibly the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly smoked and along with one of their cocktails (something called Pear-fect…) was a gorgeous meal in the ghost town. Their ambience was also lovely, with different forms of art and live music. The waiters were great as well. Also, just beside the place is a cool ice cream truck that I loved. Their home-made chocolate ice cream is delicious!

First time here! Arrived at 5:10 and already had an hour and 15 minute wait. Get there early to sign in. They take your name and phone number and you will receive a text when your table is ready. You can wait outside and order cocktails and snacks while you wait. You can even check your spot in line through their link once you provide your phone number. We were able to get in a little early due to sitting at the bar. We ordered the fried brussel sprouts which were AMAZING! Highly recommend as it’s the best thing I’ve eaten in Terlingua so far. We split the quail which comes with full sides of green beans and mashed potatoes and one quail each. I didn’t care for the blackberry sauce as it overpowers the quail but all in all it was good. I ordered pecan chocolate pie for dessert which tasted more like a chocolate chip cookie. The atmosphere was amazing as they had local talent singing softly in the background. I would definitely come back to try another dish. Bartenders were excellent!!

We visited Big Bend for roughly four days and thought it would be nice to try something different than the park's restaurant. Admittedly, it was about a 45 minute drive to the Starlight Theatre but well worth the trip. Service was prompt, they had live music and the food was very good too. I had the mesquite brisket, a margarita and we shared churros and the pecan pie.

Great space and atmosphere.. live music was great.. very busy but no surprise there..!Food was decidedly average - the chili and antelope tenders lacked any strong flavor.. her quail was very tasty..!Churros were too thick and the chocolate sauce was not even warm.

I thought this restaurant was especially well run given the crush of people wanting to get in. They don’t take reservations but they handle it very well. At exactly 5:00 (opening time) they started letting people in a table at time. They do this in a very controlled manner so the kitchen and wait staff are not overwhelmed and the room never feels over crowded. This is a commitment to a quality experience I truly respect. The down side is it’s not easy to get in. Best to be there early and be near the front of the line. Otherwise it could be a long wait. But once you are in it’s totally chill. Great service and a very reasonably priced menu for the quality of the experience especially considering where you are.My brisket was perfect (Texas style slow cooked without sauce) with a very tasty sauce on the side. The sides were some very tasty Texas style beans and some of the best potato salad ever (creamy egg sauce with plenty of dill). And I can’t say enough about my margarita.I’m sorry to disagree with so many but this was not a mediocre experience. It may not be the Ritz but it’s unique, special, and very affordable.

Very fun place to enjoy dinner. They have live music with a section for those who want to sit close to the stage and those who want to eat dinner are further from the stage.I went at 6:30 PM on a Friday evening and they were really busy. I ordered a prickly pearita (prickly pear margarita) and an antelope burger. They originally forgot or lost my order for my margarita so I didn’t get it until I asked about it when my meal came. The waitress was very apologetic. The antelope burger was juicy and came with the right amount of toppings. The fries were a little cold which made me think my food had been sitting there for a while. I would’ve liked the fries to be warmer and a little crispier.Overall it was a good meal and if I was in the area I would go back.Parking: Gravel parking lot that seemed to have a lot of parking.

How to review Starlight Theatre, truly a unique experience and atmosphere of Terlingua. Expect a wait, maybe 60-75 minutes unless you are one of the first there to get your name on the list at 5 o’clock opening time. There is a cantina to the side of the building where you can get cocktails, beer and appetizers while you wait - as well as a cool outdoor sitting area! There are heaters to help keep you comfortable in the cooler nights. Staff members can be anything from friendly and kind to brusque and business like, not catering to the touristy crowds. Didn’t bother us one bit, considering the food was good! Brussels sprouts won our vote for best appetizer, and dinner options didn’t disappoint either - chicken sandwich, burger, brisket plate and chicken fried antelope!

The food was pretty good, but not outstanding. I had the antelope burger, and it just needs more spice, but it was still decent. I LOVED the atmosphere, though. The musician was incredible, and his music set the right vibes for the place. The place is absolutely lovely, and it made for a relaxing, enjoyable evening. I also loved our server. She was so kind and quick to help. I recommend this place, but try something besides the antelope.

This place isball about the experience. The entert was good. The chicken fried antelope was really tender and tasted great. The service was good and the staff was friendly, but the wait was much longer than they estimated. The table that four of us were seated at was barely big enough for four kids. The ribeye steak was a cheap, tough cut with gristle and no marbling. The rolls are tender and delicious. The sundae was also delicious.

Plenty of parking, thanksgiving is their busiest weekend and during this time they don’t do reservations. The brisket is amazing and this is very likely the best food in town.I believe they open at 5 and stay open late. Also try the brisket queso.

Starlight theatre is one of the most well known dining venues in Terlingua. Their food is good, and their staff is very friendly. However, be prepared to wait to be seated. Starlight theatre is not a large establishment, and so seating is limited. They open for dinner at 5 pm. We arrived at 4:30 pm, and there was already a long line to get our name on the waiting list. We were finally seated at 6:30 pm (after one round of diners were done with their dinner).

Bit of a let down. Exceedingly average food. Out of brisket at 7pm. Got steak sandwich instead. The sandwhich had no flavor but the au jus was good and so was fries. Salsa and Guac seemed out of a jar also lacking flavor.Wait staff seemed to be having trouble with about 50% occupancy. Shout out to the hostess who was running around helping the waitresses.

A fun night! Staff were on it from the start offering us margaritas while we waited to be seated, only took a few minutes in the end but a great welcome. Sat at the bar which was great as we had someone on hand to keep the margaritas flowing all evening, think we tried almost every variety they had on offer and they were all good! The food was surprising, huge portions of really delicious stuff. The Brussels were an absolute highlight, crispy and tangy, wish I knew how to make them like this. Wish we had space for desert but we over-ordered on mains and sides so were stuffed full. All of this and live music throughout too. A unique experience in this magical place!

We were in line by 4:15 but still were told we would be in the second seating. It was spring break and there were several large parties ahead of us. They only have 15 tables. We got a drink from the cantina and went next door to shop and kill time. The store has a great selection of merchandise. As we were walking back they were calling us - we got the last table for the first seating! Our waiter Ben was very helpful. The fried Brussels sprouts he recommended were outstanding. My husband had the chicken fried antelope and I ordered the French dip. Everything was prepared well and served hot. A local musician played guitar and sang while we were eating. We brought home enough food for one of us to have another meal! We talked with a couple who were arriving as we were leaving around 6:30 and they later told us they couldn’t get on the list as they were full for the night.

Had an amazing experience here! Long wait time for a table but the host got us a seat at the bar as soon as it opened so we only waited 5 minutes. Bartenders were so sweet. Their vegetarian tacos are also vegan if you don’t use the side of sour cream, and they were some of the best tacos I’ve had in a long time!Highly recommend for vegan/vegetarians traveling through.(They also had a vegan impossible burger but if you like tacos I’d get those!)Vegetarian options: Tacos and burgerDietary restrictions: Vegan options

Incredible historic building, great menu and great drinks. The food itself was 4/5, each dish (Brisket tacos and Chicken Fried Antelope) was missing something sweet to balance the flavours which would have taken it to the next level. Service was pretty good, not great. Overall, totally worth it and would come back, but have reasonable expectations!

Loved my visit to the Starlight. I was expecting a line into the parking lot at 4pm but it was very chill on a recent Saturday night. There wasn't even a line at 5 when they opened, just several parties kind of standing around. Everyone took their turns walking up to the hostess and in the end there weren't even enough people to fill the restaurant at opening. While you still have to wait in line to sit at the bar, normally the wait is much less and you might be able to get right in. So pro tip, just eat the bar. It's more fun there anyway as you can chat with the bartenders and locals. The salsa and guacamole combo appetizer is a must. Then I say opt for the country fried antelope. I mean, where else are you going to get antelope? It was delicious. The steak sandwiches was also really tasty. There's live music as well which starts at 6pm. Unsure if it's every night or just on the weekends. There's also a Cantina around the corner to the right where you can enjoy a drink before the restaurant opens.

Wanted to try their food but the takeout was not available the day we went.Recommendable to call before visiting. The mountains view from the entrance of the restaurant is breathtaking. Especially in the evenings.

Review after 2nd visit...We returned the following day and had a totally different experience. The food was again very good and the service and atmosphere was excellent. Maybe they were just having an off day the previous day.Nice food and atmosphereService is appalling. Met by a surly man at the door who could even raise a smileThe waitress was very poor and didn't even bother to explain the options for our mealWhen the food arrived, it was plonked on the table as the waitress casually mentioned they were out of mash so we were getting fries insteadNo apology nor explanation. The food was ok . The wine was weird and the service abysmal.
