The Willow House is a desert oasis in every sense of the word. My daughter and I stayed for one night during a trip to Big Bend and we were completely blown away by the beauty and tranquility of Willow House. Our room was serene, the bed was soft, the shower was hot -- everything was exactly as it should be. The Main House was also spectacular! A huge shared kitchen and multiple dining areas + hang-out zones. The attention to detail was incredible. They have truly thought of everything! The pool felt amazing after a long day of hiking, and stargazing from the hammock bed was a definitely a highlight of our trip. I also want to mention the excellent communication. When I reached out to see if we could check in an hour early, Molly quickly replied and let us know that it was a busy day for the housekeeping staff but we were welcome to use any of the common spaces. Our only regret was that we couldn't move in.

The place consists of 11 or 12. 1 and 2 are joined together, so are 3 and 4. The rest are standing alone rooms. Other than 1, 2, 3 and 4, the other rooms are only about 11x11 feet. There is not much room for any storage. Please pack light. The bathrooms are ok sized. Some of the rooms have outdoor showers attached to them also.Cooking and socializing is done in the communal great room. There are three stoves, three dishwashers, two fridges, three eating areas and a couple of sitting areas in the great room. There are all sorts of dishes, utensils and crockery available for guest use.

This place is a real find. Perfect location to do the state and national parks, not to mention the Starlight for dinner/music. Amazing views. Nice pool. The shared spaces are kept immaculately clean and fully stocked. On-site management really went above and beyond welcoming us and answering some questions we had about the grill -- they even helped us light it! Dinner turned out awesome many thanks to the help of Iro and Ode. We will be back for sure.

Willow House is a beautiful place to stay and is in proximity to anywhere you would like to visit (Big Bend, Terlingua, Marfa, etc.). The property itself is gorgeous and will provide you with breathtaking sunrises, sunsets, and night skies. The main house is well designed, cozy, and has everything you would need to make a meal to enjoy. I spent a week at Willow House in July through their artist residency program and it was such a relaxing, restful, and inspiring place to be. I would recommend staying here to anyone traveling in West Texas.Rooms: My casita (casita 3) was very cozy and well designed. The beds were very comfortable and I enjoyed waking up each morning to a view of the sunrise outside my window.Nearby activities: Terlingua ghost town is less than 5 minutes away and has a lot of cool history and restaurants. Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park are both close by if you are in the mood for hiking, horseback riding, or river trips. I also really enjoyed the hot springs within Big Bend National Park. The drives to Alpine and Marfa aren't too bad either in terms of West Texas driving.Food & drinks: The kitchen in the main house is STOCKED with cooking tools. They will have everything you need to make a meal I promise- including spices, oils, etc. I also enjoyed a few local restaurants in Terlingua that were delicious: Starlight Theatre (with live music!), Espresso y Poco Mas, and Venga.Noteworthy details: The view of the Chisos Mountains from the Willow House property is unmatched. The colors of the mountains and landscape seemed to change every day and there was always a new part of the view to focus on. The vastness of the region is really evident and makes you feel like a small part of something larger. Willow House has various places to lounge across the property giving you a new view in each place you choose to rest.

I CANNOT WAIT TO GET BACK! Staying at Willow House was an absolute dream - even at the height of the Texan summer. I stayed for a week in the middle of July, which I actually thought was an amazing time to visit the area. WH is about a 10m drive from the Big Bend entrance and the park is absolutely deserted in the summer. We'd go before sunrise or around 5/6p for sunset and have access to the canyons with little to no other visitors. The property itself is one of the most gorgeous places I've ever stayed. Every casita is slightly different, and feels luxurious in its elevated minimalism. Super soft sheets, fluffy towels, extremely good AC and sweet details like a pebbled floor in the shower. I loved working in the main house during the day - there are plenty of nooks and places to sit to get privacy even if the main house is shared. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need and I was really surprised to also see how extensive the nearby grocery was and how many restaurants were within a 15m drive. The property has uninterrupted views while still being close to local businesses and the sunrises, sunsets and stargazing are all insane. The team at the house is also so sweet and caring; couldn't have asked for better service and better hosts.I can't wait to come back and can't recommend it enough!

This is a great place to stay when visiting West Texas. It's so close to Big Bend, and the landscape is beautiful. Watching the sun set from the big swing bed in the middle of the property was a pretty unbeatable experience. The coffee set up in the main house kitchen is awesome (they keep coffee from Big Bend Roasters stocked, and they have regular drip and espresso machines), which makes getting up for the sunrise not so hard. I also loved the robes. I would definitely recommend!Nearby activities: Big Bend National Park

My stay at Willow House was absolutely incredible! The onsite managers are wonderful and create such a relaxing environment. The music and scent in the main house, for example, is always perfect. All the details of this place (the outdoor shower, the robes, the linens) make it feel like the ultimate stay in the Big Bend area! Not to mention the incredible desert views. Can't say enough good things.

Staying at willow house was a real dream! I had the chance to stay for a little over a week and it was so lovely. It's so close to Big Bend (10 minute drive) and not too far of a drive to Marfa (1.5 hours). The property is lovely down to every detail - outdoor shower, soft linens, comfy bed and more! The staff, Ode and Iro were truly so kind and helpful. They offered great recommendations! From my bedroom window you could see the beautiful mountains. If you can catch the sunrise - it'll stop you in your tracks. Being at willow house allowed me to have the space work on my art (photography!) and feel inspired by the landscape. If you're needing a place to relax or just reset this place is it. I'm already itching to go back this fall!I would highly recommend staying here if you're staying in West Texas!!

Willow House is a perfect blend of elevated, intentional and well thought out design for the lover of the great outdoors. Perfectly juxtaposed between Big Bend National Park and the vast landscape of the Texan desert, this place has everything you could want out of a unique, contemporary American southwest vacation property. My buddy and I traveled both from very far away to check it out, the only thing I'd recommend is making sure that you've stopped somewhere to get a decent amount of groceries a couple towns away. We stayed in the Proprietor's Casita and it did not disappoint.. we woke up to a beautiful sunrise pouring in through the windows up over the mountains, and they made sure you can see this view no matter what room you're in in the house - including the bathroom! 100% will be back!!

Willow House is an absolutely magical place. I would definitely recommend a trip out here to anyone. Whether you are crazy about the outdoors or not, the beauty is undeniable. The drive out here might hold you back or be intimidating, but as soon as you hit the heart of central Texas, on the way out West, it becomes smooth and easy.Willow House provides a great outlet to meet new people, explore Big Bend (10-15 minute drive), and take in all the landscapes of West Texas. The "main house" acts as the communal area and it's the perfect place to meet other guests. There is a great kitchen in there as well as multiple grills outside. Cooking and relaxing in this space is the perfect way to unwind after exploring. The rooms are very well insulated and comfortable. They are perfectly spaced in between each other to provide you with the privacy you might need. There is a nice little patio with chairs outside of each one and it is a perfect place to watch the sunrise when you wake up.There is also an amazing fire place area and floating bed setup for other options to enjoy sunrise/sunset/stars in the sky.Planning on coming back here as often as I can.

First visit to Willow House and it was an awesome place to stay. Clean, rooms are small but very comfy and AC worked great which a must for me. The main living area was nice and seemed well stocked if you chose to cook your own food. We had a great view of Santa Elena Canyon from our porch and enjoyed watching the sunset. We are already planning another trip to BB and will most likely stay at Willow House again.

Nothing has been missed at Willow House. A luxurious piece of heaven in the wilds of Big Bend. From the spa like smell to the cozy beds and fun spots to enjoy the views all set throughout the property. When I say nothing was missed I really mean it: Comfort height toilets, luxuries sheets, perfectly placed furniture for suitcases and charging our devices and the air of class sprinkled everywhere.

Terlingua Texas and Big Bend are such a special place that I love visiting. Staying at Willow House, makes the experience that much better. My friend and I were able to stay at the new Proprietors Casita and it was even better than the photos! I love the aesthetics of the rental and I’d 100% return. I’m actually dying to plan another trip to the area and I won’t stay anywhere else.

Absolutely stunning desert property. Each cottage was beautifully appointed and situated so that every porch had privacy and beautiful views across the expansive landscape. The common living, dining and outdoor areas were complete with every need for cooking indoors or out, setting up a great bar or having coffee in the morning. Hiking right from the property out to the dramatic canyon was one of my favorite experiences. But best of all was a perfect setting for enjoying friends and making new ones. As I like to say, "We had more fun than you are supposed to have." Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for respite and play!

I was fortunate to be selected for an art residency at the Willow House in Terlingua, Texas in July 2023 where I made art on location with other talented artists from across the US in a collaborative environment, fostered by the facility staff and the stunning scenery.Upon arrival, Molly, Iro, and Ode welcomed us to the modern central main house with wine and hors d’oeuvres. They facilitated introductions as we chilled out to ambient jazz music in front of a glass wall facing the mountains. Each artist had their own modern casita with a shaded porch facing the Western mountain landscape of Big Bend. The room interiors have luxury touches and a unique modern Western feel. These casitas provided us with privacy and a solitary area to create art. The grounds of Willow House and the surrounding landscape offered opportunities for collaboration as well. We enjoyed communal dinners in the central house provided by the staff.I experienced the best of West Texas and infused its concepts and ideas generated through collaborative work into my art with positive results. Our Willow House cohort will continue to collaborate in the future.Sincerely,ScottWalkability: Dress for the desert and good hiking shoes. Big Bend is a close drive. Plenty of places to hike and explore.Noteworthy details: Two fully equipped kitchen areas and lounging in the main building. Nicely equipped Casitas with luxury touches. Outstanding staff.

Willow House is a special place. The casitas are small but nice and effortlessly fit into the desert landscape. The main house is designed in a way that facilitates conversation and connection. The sunrise and sunset views are some of the best I've seen in the world - it's not often you find a place with amazing views for both. I stayed here for four nights on a trip with one of my girl friends. We loved the easy access to Big Bend. We spent two days in the national park and one day in the state park. We woke up every morning for sunrise (around 6:50am this time of year) and were at the trailheads in 45 minutes. We spent every evening on property where we made our own meals in the kitchen and chatted over drinks with the property managers and other guests. The property has panoramic views of the park - there's a main fire pit with lots of seating and many other smaller private seating areas where you can easily post up for sunset. The stargazing here is also incredible. We happened to be here during the new moon and were able to get some amazing photos of the milky way. I expected to like Willow House and was surprised that it exceeded my expectations. I'm already planning to come back with my husband in the fall to tackle some of the more challenging hikes and maybe stay a little longer.

We had a fantastic stay at the Willow House. The purpose of our visit was to participate in a Milky Way photography workshop so the location was perfect - close to all of the key photo sites. The casita was easy to locate both during the day and at night. The directions and the check in process were accurate and simple. We recommend the Willow House to anyone looking for a comfortable modern stay in Terlingua!

We stayed here for 4 nights in October and I’ve been dreaming about it every week ever since. This place is magic. We met lovely people we got to hang out with in the awesome common areas, the room was spacious, beautiful and comfortable, the outdoor shower was fantastic, the kitchen was a DREAM-it had everything you’d need to cook up a special dinner. I really can’t say enough amazing things about this place.

Our stay at Willow House was an incredible experience. The casitas are beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The desert landscape view is unmatched. The location is perfect; only a few minutes from Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. We really enjoyed making use of the main house amenities- stocked kitchen, amazing outdoor grilling area, and great conversation with other travelers staying on the property. We got to meet the owner (Lauren) a couple of times during our trip. She was very kind, helpful, and hospitable. We are looking forward to returning soon!

I've stayed at Willow House on three occasions and it just does my soul good. I keep the shades open so I can see the stars and feel the sun coming up. The view of the Chisos Mountains is so spectacular. I love the linens on the bed; the tasteful muted desert colors of the rooms; and the communal kitchen has everything: it is big enough to stay out of the way of other guests, yet it is set up to encourage conversation with great seating areas. Lauren Werner did a brilliant job in creating this place, and has an excellent staff to help you settle in. Go!

Willow House is an amazing and unique hotel in a breathtaking location. Each casita is beautifully and thoughtfully designed and feel so luxurious. The views are spectacular at any time of the day and night. It is a short distance from Big Bend, and the outdoor showers are a great way to refresh after a hike (there are also showers in each casita if outdoor showers are not your thing). The property manager, Jason, provided great recommendations, from which hikes to do, where to eat in town, what to bring with us, and even helped put us in touch with a fantastic yoga instructor for a morning class. I cannot wait to stay here again.

Serene, desert oasis with a modern twist. There are many interesting places to stay in Terlingua area but Willow House is stunning and a must stay. Great base camp to explore Big Bend or relax under the stars. Booking was easy and host responsive. Highly recommend.

Had a great weekend at Willow House celebrating a friend's birthday. Our casita was great, the beds were super comfy and the AC was cold. The community space is well furnished, and I really loved the sunken couch area for hanging out and meeting new people. Every casita has a beautiful view of the desert landscape with mountains in the background. On top of that, it is very close to the national park and makes for easy access to hikes and adventures. 10/10 would visit again. Can't wait to go back!

Willow House was even more beautiful in person! The spaces are serene, comfortable, beautifully designed, and relaxing. Our casita smelled like a luxury spa! The views are stunning and the property has lots of different areas to sit and enjoy them. The location was perfect, with close proximity to everything in Terlingua and Big Bend NP, while also feeling remote. Our room had so many thoughtful touches to help make the weekend extra special and we can’t thank the owners enough for such a magical, memorable weekend. We can’t wait to come back!
