Had a great experience when I went into today. We happened to be there while the Saturday kids activity was wrapping up so it was pretty busy, but some employees were able to help me about some peg boards I was in need of. The employee working in the cutting center while we were there was extremely helpful and was super nice to my little boy. I just realized that I didn’t catch his name, but I am so appreciative of him!

I have shopped at the Layton Homedepot since it’s opening. My experiences have for the most part been positive. I worked at Whirlpool for 17 years and my 180 field reps called on about 80% of USA locations. So Homedepot had always felt like a good friend. That changed today. I went to the self checkout with a sprinkler controller marked $199 and some roundup. Not a huge purchase, but I work in a retail location and every dollar counts. Scanned the controller in and it rang up at $199. On THD website it shows $159. Asked for help, they told me he couldn’t help me and that I had to go to customer service. Arrive at customer service and was told she couldn’t adjust the price either. In order for me to get the price on the web I had to get online order it through the app In order to get the price as advertised on your own website! As I said I work at a well known legacy retailer. If and when we have something happen similar to this we will always honor the online price. (Not make people jump through hoops). I get the marketing angle of trying to drive business online/rewards etc. But for a guy who has been in retail for 40+ years this was really off putting to say the least. Needless to say I said thank you and left my items at the register. In a world where customers are at a premium, customer experience is more important than ever. Unfortunately this was not a great experience. I will certainly think twice about where my loyalty lies when looking for home improvement solutions. Thanks

Do not order any doors from here! We had nothing but issues with this place when ordering our new front door. It took weeks to get it in, they painted it wrong AND damaged it. No one had verified that the door was in good condition until the man who came to install it opened the box and realized. I had to help the man who came to pick it up, haul it out of my back yard because they sent ONE MAN to pick up the door. That was after arguing with them and the installation guy having to talk back to his manager because the manager wanted to force us to put on the damaged door. We once again had to order another, they painted it brown when it was supposed to be a driftwood color. The paint on the door itself is a 1,000 dollars. We asked for a price reduction on the door only to be told we would get 500 dollars off in total (300 from Home Depot and only 200 from JELDWEN) of the original 6,000 dollar price. Home Depot did try their best in settling everything however they are receiving a one star review as well for continuing to associate with unprofessional businesses when they have had customers be screwed over time and time again (JELD WEN is the name of the door company). Do not make the same mistake we did! We will be asking for a full refund. It is incredibly frustrating and honestly ridiculous.

poor store design. Half of the items are stored up high to save space so they shut down entire aisles to get one thing down for one person which prevents more people from actually shopping. We have to sit around and wait. tried to use the Home Depot app to locate different items like Lowe’s can do and it was terrible. definitely won’t be shopping here again. Going to stick with Lowe’s.

Lavere did an amazing job!I consider myself a DIY person, but today I needed it some guidance on Plumbing, and got to meet Lavere. He was working organizing some shower heads items close to the plumbing department. I approached to him about about my inquiry and he was really friendly and good listener, he walked me through finding the part I was trying to figure out for quite a good time by myself, he explained the way it works and keep listening to my needs pointing out which products will solve the issue. Then as I was leaving to get my last item in the list, he took a look at my cart and mentioned “that glue you have in your cart won’t work for this kind of job” pulled out one of the shelves and say, “this is the one you need”. At that point my mind was blown away by the excellence of his work and the attention to detail. If it wasn’t for him I would have probably have a major disaster in my home project and have to spent 50 times more cause once the pipes are in place, sheetrock goes on, paint and vanity, and I wouldn’t have realized something is wrong until I see a leak or mold coming out of the wall. Yes, a test after installing the plumbing would have catches the wrong glue before closing everything up, but still. All the wasted time, to go back to the store etc… would have been a nightmare.I just wanted to share this with you all, cause this gentleman is doing a terrific job and should be rewarded for his amazing customer service skills.

Really enjoy Home Depot. Can’t name the countless projects I’ve done, they always seem to have what I need at competitive prices. Staff always helpful, especially when I need some lumber cuts.

On 11/27/23 at 8pm I was assisted by Teresa from Garden and Carter from Lumbar in getting my wife's Christmas present off the top shelf of isle 49. It required moving a pallet with a forklift, barricading off 2 isles and it was a monumental task. Teresa and Carter were very helpful, professional, and safe. Their attitude and willingness to serve is very commendable. They deserve a day off with pay or at least a Christmas bonus. Thanks for having awesome employees in Layton Home Depot.Micah

The beginning of solving problems. A bit under staffed. I've had good experiences with staff, wish there was more of them in the store. We've spent tens of thousands of dollars here, I love the customization options of cabinets and paint projects. Rarely out of stock. Return process is easy!

I love Home Depot! I use the phone app to help fund what I am looking for. If I need assistance they are friendly and helpful. They either have in stock what I need or will order it in. The tool rental has been quick, efficient and has had good reliable equipment.

It was a great experience Jason, Mike, and Dax helped us build banner holders out of PVC pipe. It was fun and they were so kind. They taught us something new. Thank you!

Not impressed. I feel like if you want your asking price you should maintain your packaging better. I feel like I did NOT get a deal, but bought USED items. The contents of the opened box nearly fell out as I walked to my car after purchase. Pretty lame experience if you ask me.

I usually ask at least 3 people where to find something, because when it comes to staff, they either really know the store and products or they might as well be working at a fast food joint down the road.

We got stuck in a severe snow storm and had to abandon the rental truck so we called the store to let them know of our situation that night. Unfortunately, Upon returning it the following day we were told by Ken the manager that “it’s not Home Depot’s fault you got stuck” in a very demeaning tone and proceeded to charge us for the extra 3 hours we were over, due to the time it took for us to retrieve it and get it back to the store. It seems Human Life is not as important as MAKING MONEY at Home Depot.

Angie and Doug and Rayna in paint are so helpful and are experts at what they do. They went out of their way to help me match my paint. This Home Depot location is the best because of the staff!

Lots of staff who are always willing to give guidance. Love their app and being able to find anything I need, as well as knowing if it's in stock before I even get there. Really easy to get in and out of the parking lot too since it's not directly on a main road.

Propane exchange is the biggest waste of time why do I need an app and to verify my phone number. What a worthless company imagine needing an app to buy propane.

I’ve never had such a bad experience at a hardware store! I looked up the item previously to going to the store. The bay that it said it was in had it clear at the very top by the ceiling. I waited over 40 minutes for someone to come help me in spite of asking multiple employees if they would help. They kept putting me off on other employees saying that they would come and they never did. I even called customer service and asked if they could send someone back to help me. I have sciatic nerve damage and back pain from having my twins and was in pain the entire time. I ended up leaving because I couldn’t wait no longer and my boys couldn’t handle it either. It was absolutely ridiculous because there were employees in different areas of the store that weren’t doing anything. I will not be going back there.

I honestly am a Lowes guy, color reasons mostly, that orange is hideous, but I love they rent where Lowes doesn't, not really impressed with the help, or lack of everything I'm in there. To there credit, everyone is short staffed.

Despite our difficulties with other employees (as well as my own companions) one of the assistant managers, Justin, was very understanding and was somehow able to calm the... difficult emotions on the scene. I can't speak for the other employees but he seems to be very good at his job.

"A DIYer's Disneyland!"As a frequent flyer of Home Depot, I can confidently say it's the adult equivalent of losing your mom in the grocery store – vast, slightly intimidating, but full of exciting discoveries. The moment you enter, you're hit with the scent of fresh lumber, which is basically eau de carpenter for home improvement enthusiasts. The color orange is everywhere, and I'm convinced it's to keep you awake and alert, because let's face it, deciding between fifteen shades of white paint is no easy task. And speaking of paint, shoutout to the paint-mixing wizards who can translate my vague descriptions like "sort of like a sunset, but more like a peach?" into the perfect shade. The tool aisle feels like Thor's armory if he traded his hammer for a cordless drill. I once asked an employee for a "whatchamacallit" for a "thingamajig" I was working on, and they knew exactly what I needed. I'm still convinced they're mind readers or have a secret DIY telepathy.Plant section – a jungle oasis where I pretend to know the difference between a succulent and a cactus while secretly Googling "how not to kill your plants in 3 days." It's a botanical maze where my green thumb aspirations come to either thrive or, more realistically, take a slight detour. The best part? The checkout lines, where you find the most random assortment of items in people's carts – a testament to the wildly different projects underway. It's like a silent nod of solidarity among DIYers, acknowledging that we're all just winging it.In conclusion, Home Depot is more than a store; it's a playground for grown-ups with an affinity for power tools, paint samples, and the occasional plant rescue mission. 10/10 would recommend for anyone who enjoys the thrilling rollercoaster of home improvement, or just needs a good walk and a whiff of lumber.

NEVER pay for install of a Home Depot appliance. It has been the most awful 2 MONTHS long experience and we STILL don't have a dishwasher. When we first ordered, they indicated they would call two days before to schedule delivery. Instead, they just tried to deliver on a Wednesday during the day when both me and my husband work, so of course we weren't home. When they called to reschedule, they couldn't schedule us until the next Saturday (a week and a half after our original delivery date). So we waited patiently. The next Saturday, a couple guys come to install the dishwasher. We follow ALL of Home Depot's install instructions. We clear the path, we check the pipes and valves for rust, we do everything they ask. The team gets here and they say our valve is too tight. They don't want to risk loosening it and breaking it, so they want a plumber to come in. It's sad, but we're like, "Okay, that sounds reasonable". They leave the dishwasher in our garage and then later that night, we get a call to schedule a plumber. We have to schedule for the next Saturday (because we work). So we patiently wait a week. The next Saturday comes and the plumber has an issue with his van so he can't come an deliver. He asks if he can re-schedule for Monday. Again, we work so we would have to wait another week and we desperately would like a dishwasher now. Sure, we can live without it but we have a 2 year old and 6 month old and both work full time and it would be nice to just take the dishes off our super busy plates and our current dishwasher does not work. So I express my frustrations and the plumber says he's able to come Sunday morning. He comes to install, unpacks the dishwasher and there's a MASSIVE dent in the front, like almost door unusable massive (not just an aesthetic dent). The plumber then informs us that Home Depot has a 48 hour return policy so they probably won't take it back, but that the guys who delivered it the previous week were supposed to unpack it to check for defects and that's something they are required to do as part of their job, but they didn't. So they didn't do their job and now we're going to suffer the consequences. The plumber sent pictures to the warehouse and we started the process of trying to seek a replacement. After many phone calls with Home Depot and Whirlpool, we finally worked out that Whirlpool would send a technician to replace the part but that they wouldn't replace the dishwasher. We felt this was a fair compromise. The technician is scheduled to come on a Wednesday. At this point, my husband decides to use his limited work from home hours to be there so we don't have to wait for another Saturday. They tell us that someone will call us with a window for when the technician will arrive. We never get a call. Unsure of when the technician arrives, my husband leaves around 11 AM to grab some lunch. He's back by 11:30 AM and in that window, they had decided to come (with no advanced notice) so now we have to reschedule the technician. We re-schedule for later that week and my husband uses his work-from-home hours again to be home for it. Finally, the dishwasher door gets replaced. Now we have to call Home Depot to schedule the install that we already paid over $200 for and were expecting done weeks ago. We schedule for Saturday because my husband doesn't want to use his hours again. Today is Friday, and they call and leave me a voicemail that they don't have plumbers available tomorrow (Saturday) so now they want to re-schedule for Monday. At this point, I would have paid my own contractors to install it and it would have gotten done right and done over a month ago. I'm incredibly frustrating, and we will NEVER be ordering appliances from Home Depot ever again. This was our first big appliance purchase since we moved into our new home last year and it has been an awful experience. At the very least, at this point, they should have offered to refund the charge and install our dishwasher for free. Don't trust Home Depot with your appliance installs. Just don't.

All the big ticket items for sale at the front of the store are damaged. Tried to buy a Milwaukee tool chest. They were all damaged and dirty. No one cares about the merchandise in that store. $1000 plus for something they stored outside for months and is now damaged! The store manager needs to walk the front merchandise, everything looks like it belongs at a bad garage sale.

Dave and Matt… so unknowledged about Home Depot’s policies. Even when I have it pulled up on my phone, neither were willing to admit they were wrong. Dave had the worst attitude and unbelievably rude. I would avoid placing him in your customer service area again.

Horrible customer service while trying to rent a truck. The rental guy didn't know what was available or the rates for anything. I was on the phone just ringing endlessly for 20 minutes and eventually gave up and had to go in store.

Wished we would have read reviews about buying and installing doors before we started the process. Started the process in early October of 2023 and today March 4 2024 still trying to get a refund after a number of delays and problems on the Home Depot and installers. Been a week working on getting a refund, but once again the run around and delays.Buyer beware!

Brought in a return, got the money back. No one could come out to unload the pallet of return material. I called desk once more and they asked me to talk to someone else if they could help me. If your customer service you call and ask for someone in your team to do there job! Nothing like standing in the rain waiting on them to assist!

The worst service ever. All of the employees are huddled together visiting and ignoring the customers. I asked for assistance in the HVAC department and the only one who helped, had no ideas what she was talking about. Terrible.
