We are not happy about writing a negative review about Visionary Homes. We love our home. Because we have lived in our home longer then a year they won't even look at our issue. The decorative stone and mortar on the front of our house is cracking and falling off. The stone is also covered in mold. We have been in our house for 2 1/2 years. This decorative stone should last longer then that. It's poor workmanship and low quality materials. Visionary Homes should take more pride in their workmanship. It's sad to know they won't even look at our issue. We would have said they were great to work with, not now.

I would like to thank Laura, Maddy, Mike and Houston from the warranty department. We had some unexpected issues with our flooring and this team helped us realize we made the right decision picking Visionary as our builder. When everything was about complete, Mike and Houston did a phenomenal job wrapping things up. They left everything better than before. We appreciate their work ethic! Thank you guys!

I purchased my house in August of 2023, upon initial inspection, my house was perfect! However, as with most things, you end up finding some small, but significant issues. Luckily I had the luxury of working with Maddy in the warranty department who personally made sure that all my issues/concerns were attended to. I am thankful for her customer service and overall pleasant attitude; a real cherry on the cake! Thanks!

If I could give them zero I would have. Best of Northern Utah? That’s laughable. Had my Condo built by visionary back in 2020 and it was the worst experience of my life. Visionary knew about faulty wiring before I did and covered it up. Now they refuse to help resolve my issue with bad wiring and have been belittling me and talking to me like I’m stupid. Please don’t buy from visionary homes. All they care about is the money that fills their pockets and they put very little effort into their homes. Somehow the faulty wiring passed inspection and they allowed me to move into my condo and now they don’t give a damn about me. Who knows what I’ll run into next?

We bought our new construction house from Visionary in 2022 and have dealt with unfinished projects that Visionary has promised and continues to promise to fix. A new general contractor starts literally every 2 months and is told of our issues and states that they're aware of it and "we're on the list"We don't have window screens, my countertop's supports are broken, scratches and paint that are still needing to be fixed. Don't get me wrong, we enjoy our house for the memoroes we are making in it as a family but seeing all of the empty promises and lies Visionary has told us almost 2 years of living here is heartbreaking. We will be proceeding with all options to get this fixed. We also feel bad for all of the people that are building Visionary homes next to our lot. Buyer beware

I would never go with Visionary again! We have lived in our townhome for 3 years and in those 3 years we have had...to replace the A/C unit, replaced parts on the water heater, the furnace has had to have parts replaced multiple times and we had a major leak where we had to completely tear out a wall and have half the roof replaced because the roof was installed incorrectly. It looks months of fighting with visionary to get them to pay for the roof repair because they wouldn't get back to us or told us it was the HOA's problem (which it was not). On top of the major problems we have had we have also dealt with minor problems such as: holes in the bathtub, flooring warped, and the driveway is falling apart. The workmanship is terrible and we have had to put hundreds if not thousands of dollars into repairs on a 3 year old home which should not happen. I will never recommend visionary to anyone and will never be building with them again.

EDIT- Promised to be contacted a month ago, no contact. Lost access to builder trend and my blueprints. Again, nothing but empty promises from this company.Buyer Beware: Broken promises, exaggerated expectations, employee confirmation that they have had class-actions filed due to poor project management and failure to service warranty requests, and outright lies. The "Foremen" come and go. The current one tried to convince me that doorways aren't painted at the top because it's not visible and that's industry standard across the board... even when doorways are visible in entirety. We've been promised that we're on a list and the list is being worked diligently three or four times now. Each time we're told they'll be in touch ASAP.We get our hopes up, and then reach this cycle. Filling out a negative survey got more done with them scheduling people than we saw in the first year.My wife made a negative review and I suddenly have a contractor messaging me today. They removed access to our blueprints online before I downloaded a copy for reference so I couldn't verify wiring locations.Employees confirm they've been filed suit due to poor management in their communities. The current community has discussed it.If I knew it would be this much work to have simple things done, I would have picked a different house to buy.

We bought a home with Visionary in Dec. It was a spec home sorry didn't get to choose any upgrades to the home which was fine since the home came out with so many beautiful upgrades already. We love our home. We just move here to Utah from Virginia, due to my husband retiring from the Air Force after 25 years of service. I accepted a job at Hill afb. When we moved in we noticed that there was some pieces missing on the steps from the garage going into the home. I have contacted Sean our contractor many times since we moved in at the end of December to have it fixed. It has now been 2 months and still no progress. I am very frustrated as I mentioned earlier the house is beautiful however the follow-through and communication is horrible. I do not feel comfortable referring visionary to any of our friends in the military moving into the area due to the lack of follow-through and communication. DMCO2

Visionary Homes is the best. Karen Shelton patiently guided us through the design of our home, the staff at the design center provided insight to our interior decoration, our project manager, Devon Brueckner tolerently worked with us thoughout construction and Kerrie Kirkendall professionally helped up through some of the inevitible post construction issues. If I had to do it all over again, would I use Visionary Homes? YOUI BET I WOULD!!Services: Design, Project management, Custom home design, Home building, Interior design

MUST READ I would NOT buy a home from Visionary. My kitchen island was three different colors. All the grout fell apart within first month. Poor paint job throughout. Concrete driveway starting falling apart within months of moving in which is not covered under warranty even though it was poorly done. Column on front porch has been redone three times because nobody visionary hires can measure or cut a straight line. Chris the supervisor finally told me too bad it’s the best it’s going to look. We will no longer try to fix it. It looks good enough for me. The column is not squared. Pieces of wood are overlapping and trim pieces are different thicknesses of wood. In one area there is a half inch of caulking 4 feet long. I will be uploading pictures shortly of column and other faulty work.My wife and I are both teachers. We would NOT recommend them! Please notice how they do not respond to negative reviews. They are not in the business of doing what’s right.

Mike came to my home after submitting a warranty claim just hours before. He went above and beyond on the tasks he did. Including fixing a window that wouldn’t lock, and repairing a little ding in the wall!

We are a subcontractor for Visionary Homes, they do a great job at making sure their work fits in the budget. They pay their bills on time, their project managers are good at communicating. Their business is very organized and systematized.

I've waited 2 years to pass judgement before writing this review. I get things go wrong in a new home, but it has been ridiculous. The actual design phase and building phase we're good. That's why I'm giving 2 stars, but the quality, especially concerning their subs has been abysmal. Right now we are in the process of a home insurance claim to rip out our entire bathroom and rooms underneath because the master shower broke due to our craftsmanship, which was verified by the restoration crew. The cabinets have been horrible as EVERY SINGLE drawer has broken and the cabinet company just ignored our complaints and calls. The appliances all broke and the concrete work is extremely poor. We have sinking walk ways and multiple cracks every where. They told us to expect some cracking, but it's been ridiculous. None of our neighbors, who are all newer houses, have the amount of cracking and surface damage we have. We used these guys because they were fast and affordable, but I guess you get what you pay for.

We love our new home from Visionary. Karen Shelton was the perfect person to help us build this home. She was always there for us and worked with us the whole way. We highly recommend Visionary Homes.

It’s sad I have to write this review because we built two homes with Visionary Homes, but when they don’t take the responsibility of their warranty service it’s quite frustrating. About 6 months into receiving our home, the driveway started to crack. I contacted them and they told me that couldn’t do anything unless it was a certain size of crack. Fast forward to about 11 months I reached out again because they were getting bigger. Multiple times we contacted and multiple times I just was givin a runaround, finally they just told me that they wouldn’t cover it because heavy machinery was on the drive way. They sent me pictures stating that rocks and such had been moved meaning machinery was on the driveway. Funny thing is, this is just their assumption and used it to not have to do any work on my drive way. Not once has heavy machinery been on my driveway just on surrounding soil to complete our yard. I told them this, and never received a reply again. They just figured they would ignore me I guess. Fast forward to today, The cracks have gotten bigger, and now part of the driveway is lifting. The fundamental issue is that the soil under the driveway was not properly compacted before pouring the concrete. And now of course they want to blame the homeowner and not fix the issue. I really thought visionary was different which is why we built with them a second time, unfortunately I was wrong, they are exactly like the rest of them.

My client bought a home with Visionary. My client has actually bought two homes now with Visionary. This buyer is very particular, very detailed. My buyer gave Visionary a run for their money with repairs and touchup requests. Visionary hit every single item on the head without a second notice. I am so surprised and flabbergasted actually. I am so grateful that they took my client seriously, Zak who represented Visionary was so friendly and beyond helpful. Can’t wait to do it again. You’ve earned my business.

I bought a condo in Providence Gateway and enjoy a great experience with Karen as my sales person. We had a little problem about a week after moving in but Mike, from the warranty department, was great and took care of the issue right away (in fact he showed up after hours on the non emergency saying "I was in the neighborhood"). Nothing in a home build ever goes perfect but I felt I got the support I needed by having my questions answered quickly and a crisp and clean home turned over to me. Terrible experience with this company. Visionary homes comes with lots of problems. Brand new homes with foundation and heating system problems. All the homes built by Visionary in my neighborhood have the same issues. The main floor is always freezing. They always send the same techs that doesn't seem to know what they are doing and never get the issues fixed. They replaced my thermostat 3 times and left it broken. Resulting my home being 57 degrees the whole weekend my family was freezing. I would never recommend this builder. Save your money and buy a home from a company that you can trust.Service: Country home building

This is a long one so I'll give a quick summary:Pros: Our home was beautiful, had a good floorplan, and quality of the build was goodCons: Poor customer experience, poor communication, concerns felt brushed under the rug.You know how people say that contractors don't care about your project once they get paid? Visionary is part of that problem. They build absolutely gorgeous homes but can't communicate to save their life. We purchased a yet-to-be-built townhome in Jan 2020. We were alright with the delays due to covid, obviously there wasn't much they could do about supply chain and labor shortages.Though we had issues with the company as a whole, our salesman was our only point of contact. Not only was he nonresponsive, but passively misogynistic as well. Any time my wife would text him about a question or concern we had, she got a "don't worry about it, it'll all get sorted out before the house is done." Whenever I texted him, often with the same question as my wife since he didn't answer, he would respond with "we'll get right on that, I'll reach out to the foreman" or some other type of affirmative language. After a while, my wife would just ask me to send questions to him. There were several issues with our house that we brought to their attention months before the house was completed like a section of very water-damaged/sagging subfloor and walls in one room with paint that felt like 80 grit sandpaper. Turns out they had been painted in July when it was 95 degrees f outside the home and probably 100 or 105 inside. Dustin said he'd reached out to the foreman but that they'd probably wait until the home was 99% done to fix those types of issues. We pointed out that that didn't make any sense, since carpet and light fixtures would be installed by then. He brushed that off, telling my wife she was worrying about nothing and needed to calm down.Fast forward to our final walkthrough in September. This was the first time we'd met the foreman, Rob, who was a wonderful man and extremely professional. He mentioned that he hadn't been contacted about our concerns, so it was no surprise when our walls still felt like sandpaper and the floor was badly sloped where the damaged subfloor was sagging. This delayed our move in because they had to cover our light fixtures and floors before sanding and repainting the walls. They were still a little rough after the second coat, but we needed to move in so we just dealt with it.Rob also told us that even though Visionary had always sourced drawer slides with soft-close, he and his crew had to remove them unless the customer opted to pay extra for them. The townhomes were the first buildings he'd done where the soft-close was just included. Even though this didn't affect us, it's absolutely ridiculous and unethical to make people pay for an "upgrade" that didn't cost the business any extra to get. It actually made more work for them when the customer didn't upgrade. When we purchased the house in Jan 2020, there was a large community area that was supposed to be done the summer of 2019. It would include a large clubhouse, pool, playground, and a basketball court. From our understanding, we had higher HOA fees and a higher price on the house because of those amenities. We were able to use the clubhouse once, about three weeks before we moved in Nov 2021. However, in that time four massive condos were built and sold. They had also started construction on two more condo buildings.*Update* Shortly after posting this review, I was contacted by our salesman to talk over my frustrations. It turns out that the clubhouse was contracted by Visionary's commercial business rather than their residential. This explained a lot, but I now question why one company would make promises for another company.Much of my other concerns were addressed as that's what Visionary's policy is or that we had been given wrong info by Rob. Even if those are true statements, I would hope that a company would review their policies when they are causing problems with customers.Service: Home building

Visionary Homes is the best in the business of home construction. They make the process so easy and straightforward that I experienced no stress through the entire process. Karen, the new home specialist, was so patient as she walked us through choosing a floor plan that would work for us, both size and budget wise. The design team was fantastic as I navigated through the selections of colors and design options for my home. They didn't push anything on me, but helped me to choose what made me happy and gave suggestions where appropriate. I loved that the decisions of colors in and out of my home were approached with patience and I was given ample time to browse before deciding. Cost was always very upfront. There were no hidden surprises for me and they helped me keep my total cost right where I wanted to be to purchase. The project supervisor was very friendly and made sure we were informed on the progress of the house. When we went into the house, he was very kind and interacted with my children too! He was very professional and again, patient with me when I asked a question. Closing was quick and the two times I checked something with warranty, they were quick to get it checked and friendly during the process. Visionary Homes is perfect for anyone looking to build a home. The quality of my house is top of the line and yet affordable. I honestly would never build with anyone other than Visionary.

I did not have a great experience with the sub contractors. I had lots of work that needed done on my new build and with luck of it getting done. I’m going on almost a year of waiting. So I decided to get ahold of the warranty department and man was I glad I did. They reached out to me and got an appointment scheduled. Mike came out and went over my list of things that needed done. Shortly after Austin showed up to lend a hand. Boy was I grateful that visionary sent these two gentlemen to my home. They are very knowledgeable and respectful. One of my biggest concern was that we could not locate the dryer vent. Mike was able to locate the location of my vent within 30 mins. The problem was my vent was stuccoed over. But again these two are professionals and found the exact located and penetrated through stucco and installed a vent. One thing I have to say is that these are the type of employees that will take any company big or small really far. I’m am truly a believer in visionary warranty department. My family and I would like to say thank you to Mike and Austin for going above and beyond for us. Visionary is very lucky to have such employees. Thanks you guys

We built with Visionary Homes and have had an overall great experience. They were very helpful from the beginning and throughout the build process. We were first drawn to them because of the home design and features as well as the competitive price point. Their design and sales team were very helpful and were easy to work with. We had good communication with our foreman and sub contractors. I am not going to say that there were no bumps in the road throughout the process. With all new construction there are going to be a few issues but they addressed them quickly and insured that problems were corrected and we were taken care of. I would gladly recommend Visionary Homes to any friend or family.Services: Tile work installation, Install flooring, Landscaping, Garage design & building, Design, Paint indoors, Project management, Exterior painting, Drywall installation, Plumbing fixture installation, Repair flooring, Consultation, Drywall repair, Flooring

Mike & Houston were great to work with, they had to take off all of our base boards so a new floor could be installed and reinstall them after the floor was done. They did an amazing job they look like new you cannot tell they were pulled off, their attention detail was impressive they were there we the said they would be, polite, and easy to talk to-we were worried how it would look when it was done but they did great.

After considering other builders we chose to build with Visionary Homes because we loved the floor plans they offered as well as the quality of their homes. We were immediately impressed by their professionalism and enjoyed working with Dustin. He was great at answering all our many questions and very responsive through the whole process— and has a great sense of humor! The process actually went relatively smooth with Visionary but we had some major issues arise with our developer. Bric our supervisor was absolutely awesome and on the ball at problem solving and taking care of us! I can’t say enough good things about him and his attention to detail and transparency! I can tell you from experience this is a builder who does business with both integrity and quality! Our home looks and feels custom and we couldn’t be more happy with it! Thank you Visionary Homes for taking such good care of us! We appreciate everything you’ve done and will be recommending you to others!

Had a home built by Visionary in Richmond, UT. It was initially a good experience. Our project manager was excellent and kept us well informed. The design team was awesome. We had only minor delays but those were due to weather and we were understanding. Our family had built a home in Colorado several years ago with another builder and I was expecting lots of headaches again with the building process, but found the initial building process with Visionary quite smooth with a lot more flexibility.Editing my post since initially we were dissatisfied with the way the vinyl siding replacement was being handled. After it failed for the second time, we paid a little extra to get a Hardie board siding replacement. It looks great and we're very satisfied.

I built with Visionary 2 years ago and it was a great experience. Shane and Donna were awesome to work with! They walked through everything thoroughly and repeatedly to make sure it was the way we wanted. When issues arose (no new build goes 100% without issue) they were helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to make things right. Visionary helped us in ways that other builders were not willing. We love our home and wouldn't hesitate to work with them in the future. They have done a great job at maintaining our relationship and we feel like we are friends and not just clients.

Visionary was very easy to work with and answered our questions during the building process! We built with them in their Farmington townhome community and it is a great location! The only complaint I have would be the quality of the build isn’t incredible. There were issues with the cabinets, doors, and installation that we requested to be fixed before closing that did not happen. After closing, we had multiple light bulbs go out. My family and I moved into the townhome in April and it’s barely September. Since being here the paint has chipped and the dry wall isn’t holding up great.Services: Predesigned floor plans for homes, Home building
