We just bought a new home and started having some issues with the plumbing after being here only 2 weeks! I called Jay's after a high recommendation from Jim at Mid VT Plumbing & Heating. The staff at Jay's were super helpful, even the owner got on the phone to help me out! They got our tank pumped and the pipes unclogged and now we are all good to go! Highly recommend these guys! I called at 8 am today and they were out here by 10 am fixing the problem.

I called Jay’s septic to make an appointment a month before they were able to fit us in. The first time I spoke with the woman in reception she sounded rushed, and when I tried to explain my septic system issue not having a proper cover she was dismissive. She told me if her guys didn’t have to dig then I didn’t need to worry about any extra fee or how it was covered. The day of my septic pumping appointment I called to verify the amount that I would need to leave for the pump service and asked if they could give me an estimate while everything was opened up on making it easier to get to for the next pump service. (Their website advertises installation of risers.) She proceeded to tell me where I could buy risers to install them myself! When I asked her if that was a septic system company service she asked me if I have a problem? She was curt, unprofessional, un-informative and highly unprofessional. I would under no circumstances recommend this company. Because I live in Thetford I was trying to spend my money locally! I made a huge mistake! If this is a family owned company it doesn’t say much for the future or for the family who will inherit it when their current owners are passed. I will now have Stearns come and pump my tank due to the complete frustration and unconscionable unprofessionalism of this company.

Terrible service. No showed four times! Woman who answered laughed and said she was not surprised by them no showing. We had to call them to reschedule each time. After giving them our card fraudulent claims started popping up same day. I try to support local businesses. But when it comes to terrible service like this I’m happy to go elsewhere. I'm a new home owner. The previous owners left me with no blueprints or schematic's for our house. We are unable to find our septic tank on our own. All we needed was for someone to come up, drop a transmitter down a toilet and locate our septic talk. A process that takes less than 10 minutes to complete. The first septic company we tried didn't have the tool to do it. That's why we went with Jays septic. It was a 2 month process that ended with the owner, Brent, hanging up on me, rather than trying to apologize or reason with me. I was always respectable towards them. I was kind and polite. The receptionist was kind as well. Though no one cared anything about returning a phone call. They told me multiple times that they were coming to my house. I canceled plans and/or made special arrangements for someone to be at my house so the Jays septic team would be accommodated. Every time they were supposed to show, they turned out to be a no call/no show. When I called them to check in and see why they didn't come, it was either their machine broke, the driver forgot, or it was never put on their schedule. This company is very unreliable and unprofessional towards their customers. Even if my house is 5 feet under a septic backup, I will never call them again. I also put this review on facebook. but it was deleted.

I am appalled by my experience. We hired Jay's to inspect a septic system at a house that I am considering buying. When we first made contact, we were told that the inspection would include a report on the pipe that goes from the house to the tank. That was not done, the technician had no knowledge of the agreement. We were also told the cost would be $75., (he was onsite to pump the tank for the seller) We were told by the technician that the cost was $95. The check for $75 was already in the mail. Finally the report appears to be written by a second grade student with bad handwriting.The people involved in this business seem to be suffering from memory loss. That includes the woman in the office. No one seemed to remember the promises made.I do not think this business deserves one star. I had to click one star for the post button to activate. No stars is the best review I can give Jay's

We called Jay's to have our new 1,000 gallon septic tank pumped. They quoted us $325, which was by far the lowest of the 3 companies we called.They said they would be here between 11am and 1pm, called us at 10:00 to check in, and showed up at 11:00 exactly.Bob pumped the tank, showed me how the system works, and cleaned the filter as well. He handed me an invoice for the price quoted and was on his way.
