I have used Quality Built Exteriors in the past for my roof and they did such a great job I choose them for my windows and new fence. I couldn’t be happier with our end result! The fence, which has a beautiful arbor, was build slat by slat and looks amazing. Our new windows, front and back doors are great quality and look! They even installed a doggie door for us which was the best part of it all! All the installers were great with no issues. We are very pleased with the work Quality Built Exteriors did for us. We contracted them to build a screened in porch which included pouring a new foundation, framing, roofing, gutters, electrical, and installing the screens and doors. They did an excellent job - the people who worked on the project were curteous and we were kept up to date on timelines. We obtained three quotes, QBE came in at 1/3 the cost of the most expensive and 1/2 the cost of the second. The only disadvantage was it took quite a while - the other companies promised a few weeks for completion, and QBO did take a few months. They were clear about that up front and for the savings we were happy to be patient. Some of the older reviews on Google Maps said contractors left a mess but that didn't happen to us - they were careful to pick up all trash, nails, etc. We have little kids and a puppy so we were concerned, but they did a great job. I highly recommend QBE to anyone looking for a project.

Quality Built Exteriors is a fantastic company to work with. We have been lucky to use them for multiple projects to include roof work, a new fence, and trim on our house. Each time we worked with them, they were very communicative, produced extremely high quality work, and ensured everything was cleaned up when they finished. Both our salesman, Raleigh, as well as the foreman, Lloyd, went above and beyond to ensure the work was done correctly and completely. Even after work was completed, they followed up to see if we had any questions or concerns. Their employees showed true dedication to each job and were polite, courteous, and efficient! We would give more than 5-stars if we could!

Only complaint is that they put up 3 signs in my yard advertising themselves, I’m fine with 1 sign but 3 is very tacky. They also forgot some big scraps of trash in my yard….But the actual soffit work they did looks to be perfect.

Very pleased with the experience of getting a new roof. Ray was great during the sales phase, and Lloyd was wonderful with taking time to explain some things to me during the installation. The roof looks great and the crew did a very good job cleaning up.Edit 1/11/2024 - Also contracted for some roof trim repairs at the same time. This is a different crew led by John. They've been scheduled for 6 different dates, 3 times the crew has been a no-show and no phone calls to me to say what the delay is. I've had to make several calls to find out what is going on, and I keep getting rescheduled. This is not a good way to run a company.

Marcus, who did the repairs, was a one-man wrecking crew who was friendly and did a fantastic job and made sure the space was cleaned up afterwards.

QBE just installed a nice vinyl fence for us to replace the "vintage" wood fence that came with our house. The guys were polite and courteous and they finished a little early. They also knew we have dogs so since they can't attach the vinyl to the house and there were gaps in a few places that our little dog could get potentially escape from, they took the extra step and screwed in some leftover plan to cover the gaps and also to extend the gate closer to the ground. We intend on hiring them for our future work (redo siding, trim, gutters, and exterior doors). This was the second job they did for us and both times they've been impeccable. Can't recommend them enough.

Chose this company because of the reviews, but from the start, things have been handled surprisingly unprofessionally. Communication is basically non-existent. We weren’t told when worker would show or were promised he would show when he never would, and he’d leave half-day and repeatedly not show. When we called to inquire, we could never get an explanation. Worker brought his dog multiple times. Personal trash repeatedly left in the yard and we’ve had to pickup and throw away empty drink bottles. It took three days for approximately 10 feet of work to be done. (See first photo.) The following day, another 10 feet or so was done. (See second photo.) Subsequent days seemed to go well enough but today was a no-show with no phone call. Hurricane Ian is coming tomorrow and countless fiberglass and large, sharp, metal pieces and sheets along with all our gutters have been left lying in the yard. (See remaining photos.) It is a danger to the entire neighborhood, not to mention the imminent loss of materials in high winds. We spent an hour in the dark of the evening to help our elderly mother move as much as we could into the garage and trying to secure what we could as best as we could.

We used Quality Built Exteriors to replace and extend the gutters on our house as well as replace a piece of fence between our house and our neighbor's house.The workers that came out were very professional and did great work! They listened to our requests for where the downspouts were for the gutters and how we wanted the fence to look. They were on time and came on the days they were expected.The reason for the 4 stars is because I felt like the communication prior to the job happening was lacking. I had to call to ask about the work getting scheduled and I felt like they didn't keep me updated unless I called them. Once I called, it got scheduled right away and all went well after that. If they kept me informed better prior to the job starting, it would have been 5 stars.Service: Gutter installation

We have had three jobs done our house by the folks at Quality Built Exteriors. Gerald Massengill was great and got us all set up to finish the siding replacement and vinyl wrapping of the world trim. Avil (Sp?) and his crew have done great jobs with all the work. The most recent was the biggest with the siding replacement and vinyl wrapping. it turned out great. We will definitely be using them in the future. The crew did fantastic work. They were here every morning at 8am and worked all day. They worked hard, fast, and produced a great result. They were friendly and cleaned up at the end of the day. The communication was great. Every question was answered well and they genuinely cared about answering my questions and made sure everything didn't just meet expectations, they exceeded them.

Although it's been over a year since QBE installed our new roof, we've had absolutely zero issues with our roof despite significant rain and winds sweeping in off the Chesapeake Bay. As our home is situated in the woods, we accumulate significant leaves and other debris throughout many of the valleys of our roof, which can contribute to the backup of water during a heavy downpour and result in a leak if left unattended. As I can no longer climb up on the roof and do the cleanup myself, QBX's Project Manager Lloyd and his professionals bent over backwards to accommodate my every changing work schedule and take care of the job for me. They showed up on time, they had all their equipment with them, and they took care of the job for me in a matter of minutes. I now have peace regardless of future rains.While removing the roof debris, one of Lloyd's teammates discovered a missing roof cap and brought it to his attention. At his direction they made the minor repair promptly. I would have never known the cap was missing, however Lloyd's team went the extra step and installed an underlying waterproof membrane and then caulked it before nailing it in place. Despite their going the extra mile, they would not allow me to pay for that extra service. This is just one more reason why not only I, but two of my nearby neighbors have elected to install new roofs with QBX.None finer!Services: Roof installation, Attic venting installation, Roof damage repair

Ray was the sole reason I went with this company. I had three quotes and Quality was middle of the three, but after meeting Ray I knew who I was going to choose. I am new to Virginia and didn’t have any idea what to do when we moved in and the fence that came with the house was old and ugly. After phone calls with she and John (also a great help) we are now the owners of a beautiful fence. Richard, our installer, came to the rescue and delivered a fantastic quality vinyl fence. He left the work site clean every day so it didn’t look like a work zone and was prompt and courteous to boot. What more can you ask. Had been looking for a company to come side my house. Had several quotes done. After meeting Russ from Quality Built Exteriors I went with them. Great from day one. Was always in contact with me. Had problems getting materials but always made sure to call and let me know. I went with vinyl board and batten siding, Something different. Had to do some extra work to side of the house to be able to do so but Russ called right away and took care of me. The house looks amazing. It came together and really stands out now. I would go back to them again and again. Great people. The office lady I spoke to at first was so sweet. I don't remember her name but she was so sweet. We called and they answered the phone right away. An appointment was made to look at our fence to be repaired and the sales person called to let us know she was on the way. The work was scheduled and the contractor came out on the scheduled day and completed the work as scheduled. Extremely satisfied with work and everyone that we dealt with at the company. I had an aging roof replaced by Quality Built Exteriors. From inspection, to proposal, to contract, installation and service after the sale, Russ Polston, the general manager of the company was in constant communication with me about my roof project. He helped me understand roof repairs needed (with photos), how and when the roof would be installed, and gave me a good price for the job right out of the gate. The crew Russ deployed to my home was respectful of my property, cleaned the site constantly of debris, and worked hours beyond a normal work day to complete my job. All the while, Russ was checking on the project, visiting the site. I was impressed by the attention to detail that I received from Quality Built Exteriors GM and roofing crew. We had our fence replaced by Quality Built Exteriors and we can’t say enough great things about them! We highly recommend this company if you want the job done by a company who cares about your business and about doing the job right! Danny did a great job with demo of the old fence and building us a beautiful new custom fence. He even did extra, filling in holes our pup had dug in the yard and leveling out the fence line so the pup couldn’t dig underneath. This team cares about the customer and treating them how they would like to be treated. Raleigh came by during the project to see how it was going and make sure we were happy from beginning to end. Lovely company very family friendly and customer oriented. We’re already planning on using them for our future projects. Our neighbors have even stopped by asking who we used for when they need to replace their fence!

Created an unsafe electrical condition in my home that went unnoticed for almost 2 years. I hired them to do some siding repairs and mount and wire 3 external light fixtures and 1 electrical outlet, which they said they subcontracted out to a qualified electrician to do. Less than 2 years later, my garage security light stopped working. When I took it down, I found that the wires and connectors were squeezed between the fixture and the flat mounting plate, instead of properly installing a fixture box to house the connections. This caused crimping of the wires and damage to the wire insulation. Now, all 3 fixtures have to be redone.The original work was untimely (took 6 months to get it done after I put 50% of the cost down), and they tried to collect final payment before they finished the work. This was after I told them to re-do the fixtures (see pictures 2 and 3) because they didn't mount them nicely with a mounting block, which was the whole reason I hired someone--to mount it properly so it looks nice, was safe, and properly weather proofed. They did none of those things. I could've done it better myself, and I'm not a professional. I can at least read the building code, which seems to be beyond their ability.If this job was beyond their ability, they needed to be upfront with me, so I could hire someone who could do it right, instead of creating a fire hazard in my home. Considering a certain amount of exterior lighting is required to be installed in homes by code, you would think a company that specializes in home exteriors would have the means to handle outdoor lighting, or at least a good subcontractor to handle the electrical work.I've tried contacting them to correct this, but they are still untimely in their response. At this point, I don't trust them to touch my house. I just want my money back.I don't have to be an electrician to know that rain and electricity don't mix. The fact that the connectors were jammed between the plate and the fixture without a proper electrical box left a gap between the fixture and the mounting plate, where water could get in. A quick google search will tell you that all connections are supposed to be housed in a box. There are certain types of recessed fixtures that don't need a box, but my fixture is not a recessed fixture. You can see in the pictures there isn't enough room in the fixture itself to house all three connections. The purpose of the box is to protect the connections from accidental damage and to contain sparks and heat in the event there is a loose connection or short circuit (SAFETY).

We had to had some roofing repair, flashing repair, drywall repair, and painting done. I would say the roofing and flashing repair are probably suitable. We shall see. The painting and drywall work is substandard. The painters have only shown up 2 out of 4 days of full work time (Day 1 showed up around 10, Day 2 no show until I called, Day 3 - no work, Day 4 no show until I called and then showed up at 12:55). They have painted over wall outlets and over light fixtures. At the baseboards, some areas are not painted at all. They used blue painters tape on areas and didn't remove it in a timely manner, so that paint ended up drying and pulling up other paint when the tape was removed. They started painting before they even started repairing one full wall of drywall repair. I have no idea how they think that is going to work, but we'll see. The owner is fairly non-responsive to complaints about no-shows. And absolutely non-responsive to requests for an invoice for submitting for an insurance claim (related to the need for the flashing repair and drywall repair). I've never seen such indifference to customer concerns. It is almost a talent of epic proportions.Services: Roof repair, General repairs & installation

I work for my father's automotive repair business and we needed to replace part of our fence. It was knocked over by thieves stealing vehicles from our lot. We needed to put 8ft industrial chain link with barbed wire back on the property. Tyrone personally came out to give us an estimate and was my point of contact during the whole process. He was always available for any questions that I had as far as permits, timing, equipment etc. Tyrone and the crew were very professional, courteous, on time, hardworking and gave awesome customer service. This company was horrible, unprofessional, and unorganized, and I would never do business with them again. This especially applied to their salesperson Tom who should be fired in my opinion. He was unprofessional, he lied and often reacted in a childish manor when confronted. His lack of knowledge combined with his lack of caring made a project that should have taken three full days to complete to take approximately 560 days complete. That’s ONE YEAR, SIX MONTHS, and 13 DAYS! I did have very positive experiences with the Office Manager Amber and one of the construction workers Phillip. Amber became my go-to person after I refused to continue to work with Tom. She was everything Tom wasn’t, and she did it all even though she was not getting commission and Tom was. She deserves a raise and every penny of the commission. Phillip was always professional and did great work. But at the end of the day, I suggest anyone who is reading this, find another company. Below I have detailed my experience:My experience with Quality Built Exteriors started in July 2021 when I obtained a quote to repair my balcony and replace existing windows with a French door. They sent a man named Russ and he provided the quote. I decided to move forward with the project and took a loan out of my 401k based on the estimate. I made numerous calls to Russ to initiate the work, but he never returned my call. I called the office manager, and they sent another representative named Tom to completely redo the estimate. During the estimate I mentioned to Tom I lived in a historic neighborhood, and he would have to obtain approved from the Historic Preservation Commission. Tom got back to me a few days later and provided a much higher estimate and when I questioned the increase, he berated Russ as not knowing what he was doing, and that the door needed is very expensive. Because I had already taken the loan I begrudgingly moved forward, now without the door included, and made the down payment of half of the estimate (approximately $6,500) on 10/18/21 with the expectation that work would start once the supplies came in.The replacement columns were finally delivered in December of 2021, but they were the wrong size and style. When I called Tom to report this, he lied to me and said they do not make a column with the same size, shape, or diameter. In reality, he never measured the diameter, nor did he do any research. After doing my own research, I sent Tom a PDF directly from his distributor of an exact match to my original columns (with SKU) on 12/30/21. When called out for lying, he simply said “so, do you want me to order these” to which the obvious answer was yes. After a long wait for the columns to come in and having to get back on the schedule, the new columns were delivered to my house. These columns were also the wrong size and style. Even though they had the columns in their warehouse for some time waiting for the scheduling, no one bothered to check to see if they were right. So I had to wait yet again for the right ones to be ordered.Work finally started on the house in August 2022. However, work was immediately stopped by the city because Tom had never obtain approved from the Historic Preservation Commission (which only meets once a month). The meeting took place on 9/20 and I had to attend the meeting myself because Tom could not be bothered to do it himself. I received the approval on 9/23/22. Construction started again and was not completed until late April/early May 2023.
