We were extremely pleased with our inspection by Joseph Wingenbach. He was very patient and thorough, taking the time to answer our questions and explain his findings. Our home was new construction and we were surprised at some issues Joseph found that we never would have known about (example, an entire downspout was missing, and roof trusses not properly joined). We were able to go back to the builder and get them to fix these while our home was still under warranty. Would highly recommend Virginia Dwelling weather you have a new or older home.

It is no surprise that Joe has so many five-star reviews on his site. His competence and professionalism are top-notch. But there is another aspect to Joe that is also important to note – he is simply a good person that you can trust. Joe performed the inspection of our new home in Berryville, which is approximately 7,000 square feet in size, plus a 2,600 square foot detached workshop. The inspection took six and a half hours to complete and resulted in a 100-page detailed report. He was patient, answered all my questions, and educated me on many aspects of the home. The house was bigger than Joe realized when he provided the initial quote, and even though I offered to pay him more for his services several times, he would not accept more money for the inspection. He wanted to honor the original agreement and, by doing so, earned my respect 100%. I highly recommend Virginia Dwelling!

Highly recommend, wouldn't hesitate to use again. I contacted VA Dwelling through their website and was replied to quickly. I was able to get my very first home inspected a week later. Joe was very thorough and took the time to explain the process and his findings every step of the way. I learned a lot. My house was built in 1942 and it was comforting to know he was knowledgeable of older houses and particular things to look for in older homes. Joe spent a great deal of time discussing the ins-and-outs of the home we were purchasing. He made himself available for multiple phone calls after the inspection was complete so that he could explain the results in detail. Our house came back with high radon levels, and Joe was able to walk us through exactly what we needed to do and who to contact. If you want a professional and extremely thorough inspector who teaches you throughout the entire inspection, Joseph is your guy! We are first time home-buyers and everyone tells you that having a good inspector is crucial. One of our friends recommended reaching out to Joseph and we are SO glad we did! Within the first 60 seconds of meeting Joseph, you will realize you are dealing with the best of the best. He conducted an extremely thorough inspection for my wife and I’s first home purchase. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and looking for. His expertise simply speaks for itself. He truly has a passion for what he does and you will have a wonderful experience during the inspection.During the inspection, he noticed the water was turned off. He said it would likely be on the next day around noon and that he would stop by and check out the pipes the following day (wow!) At the time, my wife and I lived over an hour away and coming back out the next day didn’t work for our schedule as we have a very young son and two full time jobs. Joseph visited the house the next day and discovered that a huge leak had sprung loose overnight. He cut off the supply line and took pictures and documented what had happened. He contacted our realtor who got on the leak immediately. His willingness to go above and beyond for us literally saved our home from being completely flooded.His inspection report was the most detailed and informative that I have ever seen. I own a contracting company and read these reports regularly for my own customers and Joseph’s was absolutely superb.I cannot be more grateful for Joseph and his professionalism, courteousness and his wealth of knowledge.
