Parmer and Sons helped restore my 19 year old deck. Paul was a master communicator on the schedule and what to expect. Rodney was a top notch painter.When they showed up the first day, the carpentry work needed was more than expected - the wood was soft so when it was power washed there was more damage uncovered than what was evident on initial walk through. Rodney decided to get help from someone who had more carpentry experience. The next day Rodney and Ricky were fixing the deck. I liked that Rodney could say he wanted help and Ricky was able to come out the next day.Then Rodney was able to complete the painting of the deck. When I had questions or concerns, both Paul and Rodney listened and we came to a path forward that made us all happy.At the final walk through, all of us were very happy with the results and the final cost was in line with the estimate.Both Paul and Rodney were professional taking care not only of the deck but of the rest of my property. They communicated well on when they were coming, when they were leaving, and everything in between. I would highly recommend Parker and Sons.

Kudos to Mike and Jason for a job extremely well done!! The pictures attached are of a tray ceiling that had two dark stains that appeared 4 years after construction, molding above a closet door that allowed the knots in the wood to bleed through, and a corner of a ceiling that settling had cracked and split almost to the point of plaster falling off. The crew from Parmer was meticulous about details, very considerate of personal property, and very patient when we wanted to clean things before moving them out of the way/putting things back in place. They were efficient - doing several projects in one day's time. We appreciated their professional capabilities and experienced suggestions as well their overall courteous interactions with us during the day.

He made sure everything was perfect and to my satisfaction before he finished up the job. Paul and Robinson were excellent start to finish. We have used other paint contractors in our area to stain our cedar-sided contemporary home and none have come close to Parmer and Sons results. No more "it doesn't look quite right." Robinson and his crew worked diligently, finished well within the stated timeframe and suggested some great adjustments to the job, such as adding anti-borer bee material to the paint. Our house hasn't looked this good since we moved in 10 years ago.

UPDATE ON MY REVIEW BELOW (4/22/24)I posted the original review on 4/13/24 a Saturday. Monday 4/15/24 the Owner of Parmer and Sons Painting (Royce Parmer) called me at home. He asked to come visit me about the review I posted. We met that evening and discussed. He was extremely professional, apologetic and concerned. I was impressed that he wanted to come to my home and meet us and not discuss over the phone.Mr.Parmer insisted that they paint the fence "free of charge". He also insisted they would buy the paint. There was no-way I was going to have them buy the paint. I really wanted to pay him something for painting the fence. With his sincere demeanor and persistence I gave in and said, they could paint the fence. Three days later a man was here and pressure washed the fence(4/18/24). Monday (4/22/24) Mr.Parmer sent Gab (his painter) here to paint the fence. Gab called before coming. Was on exact time and did an amazing job painting. Gab was soo kind, gentle and asked me to let him know if there was something he did wrong. I can't stress enough about how caring Gab was. About 4:00pm Mr.Parmer (owner) came to my home to see how things were going. Gab deserved the praise. The end of a confused/shocked customer, Mr.Parmer (Owner) and Gab(painter) made me HAPPY!!...In the future I will use them again. I suggest letting bygones be bygones and start over fresh & forgive!...Sincerely, CarmenBe cautious!!!.....Kathy Sweeney is rude and not professional...She comes out and does quotes as in pricing.She canceled on us. She mailed our 10% down-payment refund and made us pay postage on our refund check!!!!(which made us have to go to Main Post Office and pick-up!!!!.....She says, they talked to me on phone more than to make up their $540.00 fee for One Coat of paint on One Side of a small 50ft fence. They never give their names when texting you! The pressure washer man showed up and they never confirmed when he was coming. Very prompt getting on their schedule. Starting date was actually before the estimated date. I was expecting having to wait till spring. Crew was professional, well trained, quiet, and organized. The crew was large enough to finish the project in half the time I thought it would take. It looked great.There was a final evaluation of the work when painting was completed. It seemed complete and the inspection passed in my view. It was only a few days later that I noticed some items that were not painted, It was difficult to see because no color changes were made from the original paint. It only became obvious a few days after the "final" inspection.A phone call or two to the job manager solved the problem and the missed areas were finished promptly. Parmer and Sons painted the exterior of our home several years ago and did a good job. This time we had several issues, apparently the crew we had was supervised by a staff member who was in a hurry or just wasn't that good. We spoke to Royce and his response was immediate! He came to the house, did an inspection and truly went beyond what was needed to address the problems and then lowered the cost to compensate for our trouble. The two staff that came back to correct the issues did an excellent job. Since then they have painted our deck and we couldn't be more pleased. When everything on a job goes well it's great but when things go wrong that's when you find out if you've got the right people. Parmer and Sons more than passed the test. Thank you to Royce and all the staff. We won't hesitate to have them back for the next project.

Our project consisted of pressure washing and staining our deck, refinishing the outside of our wooden front door and painting the columns and arch on our front porch. Curt Moreland, our project consultant, was very professional and courteous when putting together the work scope. We continued to have to chase them through the entire process of getting a quote. We had a salesman come out and look over our deck. The deck has peeling stain and he was concerned about that situation, especially since my husband had done everything he was supposed to do prior to staining. The salesman said that he wanted to take a sample of the stain back and take pictures of the brand to try to figure out what had gone wrong. We respected that decision to try to be cautious before accepting the job. After not hearing anything for a couple weeks we gave him a call back and he let us know that he spoke with the owner and the owner was aware of the stain we used and that it was in a class action lawsuit due to the peeling problems. After that, he said they felt confident that they could apply a different kind of stain and not have the same issues that we had had. He provided a hourly rate for the job and said that I needed to contact his assistant to get him to come back out because he had not taken measurements when he first came out. I did so and he was supposed to come back out after he got back from vacation. Never heard from him again. We are not sure if they just didn’t want the job, but that didn’t make sense as they are a painting and staining company and that was what we needed done. It is a large deck , but we were aware that the cost was going to be significant and were prepared to pay it. It’s frustrating when you work with a company that seemingly isn’t willing to take the job. I don’t feel like we should’ve had to chase them around. We eventually just gave up.Update 9/14/23: Mr. Royce Parmer called to offer his apologies for the oversight discussed above and came out to our house very quickly to discuss our project and provide an estimate. He took measurements and provided an estimate that night. He was very professional. Unfortunately, the price point was outside of our budget, even with a discount he provided for our troubles, so we were unable to hire them for the work. However, we really appreciated his professionalism and speediness in trying to make things right!

They were prompt to give an estimate for our job and they were able to begin the job in a little less time than they anticipated.
