Approximately a year ago I posted my experience with Virginia Carolina Buildings and it was a bad experience. However in the last month they have totally corrected all the problems I had . As a matter of fact they replaced my entire roof to make it right. I cannot say enough good things about Annalea. She has been great through it all. She handled everything like a true professional. I know at times I was pretty upset but she kept calm and now I have a beautiful roof. Va Carolina Buildings will always survive and prosper as long as Annalea is working there . She is a valuable asset to this company. I would recommend anyone who needs a metal roof to give these guys a chance . In the end they made everything right with me and I know now that they will do the right thing in the end for you or anyone else who gets a roof from them and I know if they don't Annalea will make it right for you.

They did a great job! Very quick and provided a quality roof. Had a few big rains since the new roof and had zero leaks or problems. Glad I didn’t read these reviews prior to the installation, because some of them seem to be a bit much…Overall: Great product, fast and quality install and a fair price.

I've reached out several times to them via email and phone regarding roofing repairs to resolve installation issues. And it seems to be impossible to get a response or to get a straight honest answer.Virginia Carolina Buildings, installed a metal on 12 July 2019, invoice # 2019-V171. From the very first day, there were issues resulting from of an incomplete installation with openings on the corners on the roofs edges being left open.During some very windy days, I noticed loud sounds as if someone were beating on the roof. I looked into the attic and saw daylight. That's when I noticed 2 more problems: 1) there was trash and leaves collecting in the attic. The previous roof had a vent installed. This area was not closed off or screened off and was allowing the debris and possibly insects or rodents to enter. 2) There is plywood warping or pulling away from the roof along the roofs edges. This was never an issue in the past, and since occurred after the metal roof installation. If the roofing contractors had found any bad boards, I would have expected that it would have been brought to my attention. I believe the installation was performed poorly and that the installation contractor took short cuts in order to complete the installation quick. Giving the current history, I am very concerned that there are other problems yet to be seen. I have requested a VA, Carolina Buildings representative do an assessment and provide resolution to the problem.In all fairness, the issue regarding the end caps and trash/debris entering the attic was resolved. The issue regarding the plywood warping has not been resolved. And now I'm seeing other areas along the roof of plywood warps. The plywood is lifted and possibly allowing water to blow in underneath.Again, I've been reaching out to their repair dept., since 10 April 2020. And I contacted their sales office via their website in hopes to find someone that can provide some answers, status, etc. As of 19 Dec 2020 there has not been any company representative to offer any type resolution. I have called and emailed several times. I've only received one phone call with no real information provided other than to say that it wasn’t a warranty issue. How would they know? No one has come out to official assess the problem and provide an official report. I’ve requested a copy of a warranty package and have yet to receive one. The advertise warranty states “LIFETIME”. LIFETIME doesn’t mean anything if a repair can’t be performed less than one year after the roof installation.Furthermore, after several failed attempts to reach someone that can at least take some kind of responsibility, I sought assistance from the Virginia Office of the Attorney General to act as 3rd party mediator. Since this company was ignoring me, maybe they would respond to OAG. They never responded to the OAG either.I should have done the research and read reviews from others customers before selecting this company to install a new roof. I gave them my business in good faith. All I could ever ask is that they take responsibility to ensure good customer service and stand behind their product. I've never experienced any of these type issues prior to this metal roof install. I just wish now that they just refund my money so that I can have someone else repair or redo the roof. I have no trust in Virginia Carolina Buildings. I'm surprised that they are still in business. If a repair can't be completed in less than a year of the install, what makes you think they will honor a LIFETIME WARRANTY years from now.Service: Installation

I had no roof leaks prior to installation, due to age of original roof, it was time to install new roof. Company provided great "initial" customer service. Called for estimate, roof was installed within days - on 1/23/2021. From the very next week after a couple days of rain, leaks were spotted. From January to now, the customer service has been unprofessional, and full of excuses that have become lies. I have literally called every week since January, no one will return a call. If i could give a 0 I would. I used this company to replace a roof several years ago and have had nothing but problems since. I would have been better off keeping my old shingle roof. I do not recommend using them. They avoid calls and avoid addressing issues caused by poor quality work. VERY dissatisfied customer!Service: Roof installation

We had a metal roof installed in January 2022. Not long after we noticed all kinds of debris in the attic that has never been there in the 17 years we have lived here. We noticed that the roof ridge vents were not covered. My husband has called several times. We have been told at least 3 times that someone would be out to fix this. As of today it has not been fixed! This is terrible customer service!!Service: Roof installation

They have installed a roof on 2 houses for me, my personal home and a rental house I own. The rental has been fine, no issues, but my house has been a nightmare trying to get help/warranty work done. On a valley in my roof I have had a pretty good leak during hard rains; they came out (they will only send out the installer who did the job, they tell me) to repair it but it did not fix the issue, it fact, it may be worse. It has been nearly a month since I first contacted them about the continued leak andi have since found other issues the original install failed to do: steel roof sheets that are well short of covering the original shingle roof and the sheet insulation/barrier that is supposed to be applied prior to the steel roofing, as stated in the contract, was never put down before the roofing. They did sent the guy who did the rental house to look at/fix the leak and he told me, and showed me photos, of the missing underlayment, short pieces of metal in the valley and missing drip edge. When I finally, after almost 3 weeks, talked w/ the office manager (Ana Lee) after the guy worked on the roof, she told me she would talk with the roofer who took the photos and let me know what would happen next. That was over a week ago: she told me then the original installer would call me to set a time to come fix things: no call from anyone. The salesman made it quite clear he would not do anything in terms of service issues- "Call the office..." I emailed the owner- Eddie? almost 2 weeks ago about all this.... no reply. I would do everything I could to find another company to do you roof or buildings: the steel roof product is fine, but the way the business is run, the lack of communication and customer care is horrid. This is coming from someone who spend nearly 30yrs in the home building industry co-ordinating service and repairs for our home owners and this is about as bad as I've seen.

I’ve used this company twice once for a home that we renovated and sold. That experience was good. Because of that experience we felt we could use the company for a personal property. This has been a terrible experience on every front. My roof work started in October and it is now March and I’m still waiting on my gutters to be installed which was part of the original contract. I’m been told many different things by several different representatives and still I get no result. Do understand we have had a lot of rain but after 5 month the job is still not complete. The company is now sending me invoices for payment and the work is not complete. Spoke with a representative about this matter upon receiving the first invoice in January. This company was told then they would get paid once the job was done. They are now charging me late fees again for job that is not done. Multiple time i’ve commmunicated with them company and have been told things that would happen but there would be no follow through. I am very disappointed with the level of follow to the customer an comment to doing what you say you are going to do. The lack of communication of when the plan changes. Here is example of lack of communication. Came home after the roofers worked on our home to find the sky light was missing and metal was covered the hole. Received no communication on where the sky light was and why it was missing. I waited to hear from the representative. After three day of waiting I called my representative only to find out the installers broke the sky light. No one from the company called to let me know what happened and it took almost two months to get it replaced in the middle of winter. Another example, The roofs came out and took the old roof off and put paper on knowing the rain was coming. When the rain came water came into our kitchen by the buckets. On a Friday evening when the rain came and water came into the kitchen very very bad. I called my company representative and was told we will have a roof guy out there ASAP. It took four days before someone showed up to fix the major water leak. In those four days it rained three. Had to pay my personal contractor to inspect the damage and take care of the issues caused by the water that leaked in my kitchen. This has been a very stressful experience using the company. Hopeful they can find away to better take care of future customers.

Had a roof installed with a 5 year warranty. Still dealing with it 5 years later. They have sent people out here numerous times to "fix" things. Just about every person that comes out, finds screw ups from the last guy. They are famous for only using first names. Good luck getting a contractor's full name. When you call Crewe just about every time the person is off or gone for the day. Do yourself a favor and steer clear.

VaCarolina Buildings, installed our roof in January 2016, a big roof job, on our barn and home. They did a great job, we have many compliments and recommend them to anyone that asks. They stand behind their work 100%. Recently we had a rain storm and had some leaks through the boots around vents. They came out with in a hour of my call to take a look and fix it. We highly recommend them for their service and quality.

Virginia Carolina Buildings did a great job on my metal roof for my barn. Great price and workmanship. Installer showed up on time, completed the roof in a couple of hours. Let the job site clean. My wife and I love the new roof, much better than a shingle roof that will need replacing one day. Also love the lifetime guarantee

Had a standing seam hidden fastener roof put on coastal SE NC. Jeff was prompt with quote, price was in line with what I thought. 4!monthe lead time, they missed it by about 2 weeks. No big deal given storm damage in NC. Pros: install was quick , professional. Job site cleanup daily and during day amazing. after 3 days maybe a grocery bag of debris. Quality work.Cons: on day they showed up,, no one contacted me prior to advise they were coming. Not the crews fault, I put this on home office failure. Luckily I was home so I could get payment ready, otherwise they would have been waiting on check Monday. The other thing is the debris container is stuck like chuck and nobody can move it. It’s been almost 1.5 months, the LEO I spoke with said I could start dismantling it to remove it now. So the oxygen and acetylene bottles arrive tomorrow, sooooo I’m gonna start cutting after work.......

We contracted these folks to put a metal roof on our home back in 2017. They indicated that they would simply put the new roofing over the existing shingles. We did not know if that was standard operating procedure for roofing companies. I still do not know.. Their ads say "Life Time Roofing." Their website says "Life Time Metal Roofing". The industry says "Life Time Roofing." Well, it sure isn't! The Attorney General's office in North Carolina is investigating the matter because of all of the complaints this company has received.Our roof was good for 3 years and we never had a problem. Then this past winter a very strong wind storm storm came and water began to pour into out bathroom, along the outer wall and around our Sky Light.So we called Virginia Carolina Builders and I talked to the young lady in the office. Her immediate, scripted response was, "That's not covered under the lifetime warranty." I then asked this young lady what exactly would be covered and she said, "Damage to the metal or if the paint fades." I ask her for an example and she seemed at a loss to come up with one. So I asked if bullet holes would be covered, and, "Yes," was her response. I asked the nice lady if a meteorite hitting our roof would be covered. Again her response was "Yes."So these folks cover bullets and meteorites and who know what else, but not Carolina hurricane type storms. Does that seem honest or reasonable or ethical or just done right or wrong to anyone ? It sure does to a dumb, old, country boy from North Carolina and his retired wife.It is also coming to the attention of a lot of State Attorney Generals' offices this LIFE TIME Warranty.. Folks do not scan seniors in today's society, do they?. Yea, Right! These folks are no scammers by far. They seem to me to have some serious business problems like they indicated to us in a correspondence. BUT we paid these folks for a roof and they gave us every indication that what they told us at the beginning was a value which they would stand behind no matter what. BUT our roof still leaks.One other point that we experienced in the beginning. They offered us the opportunity to pay over time and we made larger payments than they required. We kept our own records of our payments and what was still due. We paid it off much earlier that we had contracted for. The one continuing problem was just getting them to sent us a monthly statement.We received in todays mail a letter from Mr. Baileys office indicating exactly what there "Limiter Lifetime Warranty" We never got this in 2017 when they installed our roof. This explains exactly what their "Limited Lifetime Warranty" actually is. They tell us this in February 2021 and NOT in November 2017" when they installed. I would like to start off with. I Ordered a rough from Virginia Carolina builder based off The recommendation of my father-in-law. Who had a metal roof put on his house and said they did a great job on his roof.My experience with Virginia Carolina builders has been a nightmare from the beginning. They said they were coming on a Saturday they got there and had the wrong size skylight. So they left and said they would be back the next Saturday. They never showed up I had to call on Monday they said they call me back and three days went by and I never Reseveved a phone call from them so I called them back.They said they could do it on Wednesday and it would be better if I wasn’t there so I wouldn’t have to hear all the noise and everything will be fine . That was by the office manager . I came home Wednesday night to somebody drawling on my brand new deck. Little pieces of shaving of Metal throughout the yard which I have a two-year-old who love to run around the yard . Debris in my bathroom and material thrown everywhere in my yard and the job was not finished. No note telling me anything or message on my phone telling me anything .I called the office the next day to talk to them about the drawling on my deck the debris all over the yard and the mess they left it in the bathroom. I took the following day off of work so I cKyle meet with them . The contractor came and flip the board over on the deck when they told me they were bringing new boards. They gave me a Hundred dollars cash for my inconvenience and came and fixed all the debris u hundred dollars cash for my inconvenience and came and Picked all the dobro up . I am still finding little pieces of metal in my flower garden .

Im very disappointed with every step of the process. They didnt say they forgot me, but it was clear that they did when I called after a couple of months to see when they would do the install. When the crew came, they left trash all over my yard every night - never cleaned up. Last day I wasnt here unfortunately and they put the old skylites back up with a wide flashing and screwed that flashing into my new metal roof!! I had to call to see where the skylites were and they say it will take months to get the correct size!!! Meanwhile, when they cleaned up the last day I could see they trampled my flowers and day lilies and completely uprooted my peonies. There were nails and pieces of metal all over the yard for my puppies to get into. I still dont know when Ill have my skylites but there are going to be holes in my new metal roof when they get install!!!!! Very very very poor service.

We had a metal roof installed in March 2020. We gave noticed a problem with the metal buckling at the ridgeline. We have called a total of 7 times in the last 6 weeks. If we get a real person, it is never the one that handles repairs. We have asked repeatedly for someone to come check it and repair it and we get promises that a repairman will contact us. However, nothing! No contact whatsoever. They are very unreliable and unresponsive.Service: Installation

I replaced my shingle roof on my shed and home in December, they also replaced 2 skylights. They were mostly done in a day and the 3 workers worked deligently through the day. My salesman Larry Newcomb answered all of my questions and best of all they were only about $1k over a shingled roof!Love it and would recommend to anyone. I live it Chesterfield, VA.

They were extremely fast, professional and conscientious. The installers even went so far as to quickly sweep the sidewalk in the middle of working because my daughter came outside and they were worried she might step on a nail or screw. They left my yard cleaner than when they got here and my roof is beautiful. Couldn't be happier.Service: Installation

Double billed. I paid in full at time of service with a check to workers per request of company. Now they billed me again with interest 5 months later. Un trustworthy. If you don’t trust your workers with your payments then you need to figure out a different way. Unless this is how you scam people. . I better not get another bill or some heads will roll 😡

I am very disapointed with these people. Roof started leaking 2weeks after install and they came out to fix twice but still leaking and now no one will call back or fix and we have a bad roof. I dont even want to give 1 star but i have to to report.

I would not recommend using this company for your metal roofing needs. I was given the run around for months before the installation of the roof. I didn’t receive what was discussed with the seller. When I contacted the main office I was told that I actually received a “upgrade”. The communication is horrible and I wouldn’t recommend due to them being a “small company “ which was told to me by a representative.

To my knowledge this is also known as Mobile Home Roofing. If so I am very pleased with the steel roof put on my mobile home. I had thought of every way I could do it and priced the materials out. After getting my estimate I figured just let the experts do it and I'm glad I did. I did not know it was going to have a boxed in edge look which I am pleased with. At first I did not want the 12 inch overhang but was talked into it when I was told it's really 48 inches of extra shade, thankful I listened. The installer went the extra mile to accommodate my old oversized bathroom vents and explained what he was doing by each step. Two men did in one day what would have taken me a week to do. By the way if this is not the right company let me know, google maps does not show a listing for the mobile home portion of the business. I will remove and repost if needed.

Worst Experience ever. This company is a complete joke and should be put out of business. They have no idea what they're doing and the communication is atrocious. They are liars and dont return phone calls. Even the office staff have no idea what they are doing. That goes to show what type of business is being ran... I have already spent a lot of money preparing my site for their plans/specs and they kept changing the estimates. Once we finally agreed and SIGNED a contract, they then canceled the contract on me. I now have to get my attorney involved. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE!

As a property manager, I've personally experienced nightmare construction-related scenerios. Major projects gone bad can mean financial ruin. Imagine my surprise and delight at the incredibly fast, efficient, and wonderful work of the professionals who came to my 6-roof property in the morning and worked very hard until they were done at 9p that night. Unbelievable in these times of such horrible construction nightmares that can drag on for over a year. What a refreshing sigh of relief. I could go on and on what an incredibly beautiful job these guys did. Just perfect. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!

Worst service ever!!!! They don’t inform home owners of additional rot and potential dangers from that rot. They will put a new metal roof up, but will not tell you that it’s not safe under it!!!! So glad they didn’t do the trim correctly or we wouldn’t have know of a potential danger during the next hurricane! Buyers beware!!!!
