I'm not one to write many reviews but First Response Chimney Sweeps & Masonry definately deserve one for their professionalism and great work. I initially had a chimney inspection on a house I purchased. It was found that the chimney was damaged from a previous chimney fire. They used a Internal camera inspection system that showed pictures of the damage and the inspection report a detailed description of the problem.Several months passed before I was ready to do the repairs. I asked for an estimate to repair the chimney and purchase a new stove. They were very responsive to questions of cost and what needed to be done. The price was of satisfaction to me.When it was time for the repairs and installation of the stove, I was sent a time of arrival that morning. I was very impressed with the professionalism, quality of work, along with the dedication to pride in their work. They spent time beyond their scheduled workday to make sure the aesthetics of the stove placement was to their satisfaction and mine. They pointed it out and then I noticed it, in which, they had to move the stove again to get it in the position that looked perfect. They definately had pride in their work which is sometimes hard to find these days. This company did an initial inspection and told us of a fire in chimney . They planned all the repair and ordered us a new fireplace insert . All work has been completed in a professional manner and we are extremely pleased with the constant communication for times of appointments, text, emails . I'm impressed by the knowledged they have and the quality of service they offered. I asked for an inspection and possible chimney sweep. Their soultion was $22K. Then was told since I wanted to pay a certain way, there would be an extra charge on top of what was quoted. Will be getting some work done and will update the review once I see how the work is done but coming into a home and telling the owner they need to drop $22K on a whole rebuild, not the way to do business.

Excellent work. Extremely knowledgeable about chimneys and woodstoves. I learned much new information while they were onsite doing the install. My new chimney draws the smoke the best I've ever experienced, and I have 30 + years of wood stove burning experience. We recently had First Response remove an old wood burning stove and replace with a new one. The team of professionals at First Response were prompt, professional, and friendly. They answered my plethora (!) of questions and left the area cleaner than it was when they got there! William, the owner, initially even went the extra mile when trying to simply repair the old stove; he called the manufacturer to order parts for me when I could not get a straight answer from them. FR installed a chase cover and storm collar on my masonry chimney this week. It wasn't as straightforward as usual. The guys had to cut and fit a flue extension to make it work.Andrew and Brendan did a great job!

While my repair was recent and time will tell, early impressions are quite positive.This place was my second-opinion estimate and it pretty much went in line with my first. The company is punctual, professional, and quite good at explaining what's going on. (For those of us not in the industry, this is quite helpful.)Yes, there are options in this area regarding chimney repair. And a few of those other options might work depending on your circumstance. However, with my repair and cleaning I would say I'd use this business again.They are not the cheapest - but price is generally not my final consideration. They have good reviews for a reason. At the very least, you should give this crew a shot. Well done.
