I recently purchased a house that had very dated carpet in the bedrooms and living area. Upon removal, we found hardwood throughout the home. Adams Flooring did a wonderful job refinishing. I am extremely pleased with the results. I wanted a natural finish, and they accomplished that beautifully. We also had a tight timeline, and they made it work. To top it off, we got several quotes, and we found Adams Flooring to be fairly priced for the quality service they provide. Definitely recommend!

I really don't understand the negative reviews. Those reviews almost turned me off from Adams Flooring but I took a chance and I am really glad I did. They took twenty year old oak floors that were severely damaged and had never been finished and made them look INCREDIBLE!! We have had nothing but compliments! Everyone I spoke with from the very nice lady in the office to the work crew and the owner were nothing other than friendly and helpful. The work crew is very young which I admit had me worried and they are a bit spirited but they are super friendly and polite and they WORK VERY HARD! They all responded very quickly to every and any concern that I had. In reference to at least one of the reviews. Every service provider is busy right now. You AREN'T THE ONLY CLIENT THEY ARE DEALING WITH! You may have to have some flexibility yourself and understand that you just need to stay out of their way and let them work. I own a service business myself and while we like everyone to feel like they are our top priority it's difficult when you are servicing multiple customers at once and you simply must do that to stay in business. Don't be put off by the bad reviews. Adams Flooring is AWESOME!! A before and after of the kitchen part of the floor are shared to give you an idea of how good they are!

The two men who did the work were great listeners and then offered suggestions. They worked hard and evidenced knowledge, experience, and solutions. Very professional and finished the entire scope of work in less time than anticipated! We are days away from completion on a renovation project. Finding Adams Flooring was likely the best decision we made on this project. I cannot say enough good things about Doug and his team. They laid new floors, updated existing ones and now finishing them along with stair treads. They are insightful, offering good advice and do such amazing quality work. There are other floor specialists in Williamsburg that we considered, but the primary leader in this area was poor with their response, overbooked and expensive. Do yourself a favor and don't start your project until you at least call Adams! You won't be disappointed. Will try to post pictures soon when job is completely finished. Last coat coming soon

After reading Google reviews, I contacted Adams Flooring to quote refinishing my hardwood floors. I had already interviewed half a dozen refinishers, but no one seemed quite right until Doug Adams came along. His guidance through decisions about how to treat my old, dark oak floors inspired total confidence. It was marvelous to watch the courteous, meticulous and highly skilled Adams team transform my home before my very eyes! The whole experience, including interactions with the office staff, exceeded expectations. I could not be more pleased with the Loba fully invisible water-borne finish on the floors of my great room, foyer and kitchen. I’ve already had two significant spills in the kitchen—first with pickled beet juice and then black currant concentrate—both of which wiped up quickly and easily with no hint of staining. This is the second time Adams Flooring has worked on my 1907 farmhouse floors. I've been thrilled both times. This time they repaired, sanded, and sealed two bedrooms that had painted wood floors under carpet. The gap between the floor and baseboard was not consistent - not shocking in an old house with uneven floors - but the standard shoe molding would not have covered it all. Roderick and Dylan problem solved with me offering door molding. Roderick and Ben did a great job finishing up and installing the door molding. I'm almost ready to have them come back and replace all the shoe molding in the other rooms with door molding. The team was professional, timely, clean, and pleasant. The workers were polite, worked hard and efficiently. They were able to remove old wall to wall carpet and replace it with hardwood flooring. They were able to “weave” it into hardwood in the adjoining rooms and stain it so that it matches beautifully. It looks like wonderful.The company was easy to work with and did excellent work. My 60+year old hardwoods look brand new after being refinished by Adams Flooring. Doug could not have been easier to work with. He is very knowledgeable and the floors exceeded our expectations. The crew was polite, professional, and prompt. The job was completed quickly and Doug was in constant communication about the progress throughout the process. Called many contractors to get quotes to refinish floors in my recently purchased house which had been a rental for many years. I was impressed with Doug's walkthrough and explanation of the process. He was the only contractor who pointed out possible issues with water damage and the ability to sand it completely out (turned out not to be an issue). The final result of his refinish are truly exceptional. His crew was professional, on-time everyday, the job site well kept when not in use, and the job was completed days ahead of schedule. We contacted Adams Flooring after we had water damage in our home. They quickly came to our house, ensured the flooring was dried prior to starting work, and after giving us options and setting a schedule, they kept their word and did a fantastic job. The job was completed on time. We were also really grateful that they were able to take care of moving the furniture before and after the job, as well as cleaning things. Doug is the best professional bar none in this field! We had him restore our hardwood floors to their former glory and he did an amazing job. He was punctual, honest, dedicated, and wrought magic - they look new! Highly recommend him for any hardwood flooring needs, there isnt anyone better than him. Adams Flooring LLC is the best bang for the buck!!!Doug Adams and his guys were very professional, respectful, dependable, and their work was top notch.They installed wood flooring in several rooms, sanded and stained/sealed foyer & basement steps, and even installed base boards.We had some minor issues with foyer steps, but rather than do a patch work of repairs Doug completely stripped all the steps and refinished them to perfection.On top of that Doug provided several great POC’s to do various other jobs throughout the house (railing, tile, etc.) and some quality suppliers.Bottom line, you can shop around and get all the estimates you want, but in the end you’ll most likely find that Adam’s Flooring has the most competitive pricing and quality workmanship available. We received five other estimates from reputable local companies, but Doug beat them all by hundreds of dollars and provided outstanding service!

The experience I had using Adams Flooring was by far one of the best I've had with a contractor. His price on both labor and materials were both fair and honest. His employees was professional, knowledgable, and conscientious about performing to the highest standards and I believe this stems from the person at the head of the company. Under no circumstances should you use Adams Flooring. Shalenday, their office manager, is truly delightful and bends over backwards to support the customer. However, she cannot overcome the inflexibility and lack of concern and communications of / by their owner, who refuses to communicate via cell phone and is unwilling to work with the customer on schedules and timing. At the end of the day, I lost $900 for temporary lodging for my family to be out of the house for the job, and had to cancel the contract based on botched timing and schedule delays. Use someone else who is willing to communicate about scheduling problems, and who has at least an ounce of concern for his clients. It could not have been a worse experience. I will now be selling my house without the floors being done because the other contractors are already booked through the end of the year.

Adams Hardwood Flooring did an excellent job installing 2,500 sq ft of flooring, to include rebuilding/staining a set of stairs, in about 2 weeks. We couldn't be happier with the results! Definitely call him!The owner, Doug Adams came out for the initial consultation. He listened to our preferences, as well as addressed our concerns over uneven floor and problematic stair landing, offering solutions for correction. He even went down into the crawl space to check humidity conditions and condition of the subflooring. During the install process, Doug kept us informed of his progress and texted photos of each stage.The crew was efficient and tidy, always cleaning/sweeping up after themselves and taking care to protect the flooring. The floors look absolutely beautiful! We intend to use Adams Hardwood Flooring to finish off another part of the house at a later date!

They know their business well and did a great job. Also helped in dealing with insurance company as the floor was damaged from leaking fridge. They replace a large area and then sanded, stained, and coated the whole first floor. Also had a good carpenter to disassemble and move part of counter. They didn’t damage anything and reassembled like new. You can’t tell the difference between the original and the replaced areas on the floor. I will Definitely use them in any future floor work.
