Redlaw Mechanical installed a new HVAC system for my home in Tappahannock earlier this year. It was a very challenging job due the limited height and access with my home. Redlaw installed a new Bosch heat pump so we finally have central air and much more efficient heat. The team did a fabulous job, Jamie was the lead. He was so professional and hard working and took such care with every detail to make sure every part of the entire new system was installed correctly, and this was on a week when the temperatures were so hot and humid that we hated to see them going up and down the attic stairs into what felt like an oven. The staff also took the time to help us plan in advance for special duct work that might be needed for future addition. We had to upgrade the entire Heat pump system, changed from Trane and put in a new Bosch unit. It has been a few weeks, and the most impressive change is how quiet the AC is compared to the previous Trane unit. We cannot hear the outside unit when it starts up, and the fan is quiet. The team putting in the unit was very professional and efficient and checked with us with any questions or customizing as they progressed with the install so there weren't any surprises. We have had no problems cooling the house and adjusting the temperature. It took the team 2 days to install the entire system and they removed all the old equipment. Having built and personally renovated many houses along my military and post-military career path, I am providing this review from an informed and experienced standpoint. Without reservation, I stand by my 5-star rating for Redlaw Mechanical. Prior to selecting Redlaw, I obtained five proposals for the installation of an HVAC system and full retrofit of the ducting system for a house built in 1958 . In 2003, the original oil heat system was replaced with an HVAC and the original ducting was irregularly modified to make that all work. That configuration resulted in an inefficiency that resulted in very high energy bills.Four of the five proposals came back recommending a two-system solution -- one system for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. Redlaw was the only provider who suggested a one system zoned solution. At that juncture, I met with Redlaw's exceptionally experienced and highly knowledgeable manager, Megan Jackson, who answered an unending number of questions I presented. As a result, I opted for the single system by Bosch, along with new custom-designed ducting designed and fabricated by Chris Kane at the Redlaw facility.The installation team, led by Jamie Coates, included JR Reynolds, Luke Ramos, and Jason Caster. They spent a solid week removing and installing the new ducting. They did a brilliant job installing the air handler in the attic (a much better solution than the damp and dirty crawl space). This is one very coordinated and experienced team. These guys know exactly what they're doing and they did it well.I am very pleased with the solution, the overall process, the installation, and the quality of the hardware. We now have a super efficient 13.5 EER /20 SEER/10.5HSPF system (with a UV air purifier) that comes with a 10 year parts AND LABOR warranty. And ... all of that now runs on brand new ducting throughout the house.Bottom line: We feel good about our decision to go with Redlaw. We had two brand new Bosch air conditioners installed one upstairs and one downstairs while we were away visiting family on the West Coast. They were bought at the same time and installed on two separate dates. When we returned home to our surprise the outside units were different colors. We notified Red Law and they committed to replace one of the units. A few months had gone by and we noticed a puddle of water in the crawlspace that was coming from the downstairs unit.We notified Red Law And they came out after my second phone call to the office. The Tech who first came out tried to blame the dripping of water from the unit on the condition of the crawlspace. After 21 years of having the original AC units in the home there may have been slight mold on the original unit but nothing in comparison to the water dripping from the new unit that was installed only a few months ago. A second Technician was dispatched out to the house on the same day and speculated that the water was probably dripping from the wrapping on the duct work.This situation could have been avoided if they would have just replaced the original wrapping. As of today this situation is ongoing and has not been resolved yet. This rating will be adjusted accordingly . Photos available upon request.Services: Install thermostat, Install AC

I Used this company to take care of a property and they would not recognize the warranty on my equipment. Lady at service desk was incredibly rude and said she never heard of my manufacturer. They then cam out and sold a part to me that had nothing to do with the problem. When tech left it was still not fixed and I was charged for absolutely nothing. Beware not good to work with at all . Troll answering phones needs a lesson in manners and doing her job.
