I had 2 furniture pieces that had damage. My table had a tackiness from when it was moved mid summer from OK. My cedar chest had damage to veneer and water damage to the side. You would never know they had damage! So pleased with the workmanship

I recently moved to Tennessee and in the process of moving, somehow one of the legs on my buffet broke right off! I was heartbroken to think it was destroyed and unusable. Found Don online and was quickly gotten in and repaired like new! Just a few days and he was done, even though I know he had other projects he was working on. I'm very happy to have been able to put it to use again! Great work and very pleasant to deal with!

My antiques were SHATTERED in a recent move. The china cabinet couldn't even "stand." (It had to be placed upside down. So, not only were my antiques unusable, I thought their value was gone. HOWEVER, within a short period of time, understanding, and EXPERTISE my antiques are now home. You cannot even tell anything was ever wrong with them! I HIGHLY recommend OLD VIRGINIA WOODWORKING. Five stars is not enough. I give them 100 stars or even more. Thank you, OLD VIRGINIA WOODWORKING. I cried when I saw their work (and hugged the woodworker). P.S. NEVER use Nationwide Movers or Jackson Movers.

Wanted to share my wonderful blessing with everyone. My 90-yr old Mom was thrilled with the color and workmanship of the transformation done to her 40-yr old captains chairs for her kitchen set. We have a pine coffee table that was damaged by a decoration that caught fire and burned a portion of the top of the table. We had heard good things about Old Virginia Woodworking, so we contacted Don and took the table to him to evaluate. After thinking about it a few days, we authorized the repair/restoration. It’s a hike to get to Don’s shop, but the work he does is worth the effort. We had a bedside cabinet that I had ruined with a leaky CPAP machine and a gate leg table that lost a gate. Don and his apprentices repaired both to better than new condition. If you have fine, real wood furniture, Don is your man. The pricing seems a bit high…until you see the results. Then you realize the cost is almost a bargain!

I recently purchased a linen press at an estate sale here in Bristol. The piece, although very beautiful, had minor damage to one of the top doors. While at the sale, I was referred to Old Virginia Woodworking to get it repaired. I’m glad I took their advice. The door was picked up yesterday and looks absolutely incredible. I’ve already placed it back on the piece and there is a perfect match to the other side. I highly recommend this local company for restoration needs or even custom made pieces.

We needed to have our Chapel Furniture stained from a previous dark stain to a medium oak color. Don did a fantastic job for us! I'm very pleased as the new podium, communion table and other furniture is elegant and professionally done - and - at a very reasonable price. We recently hired Don to refinish our front door. It's a solid mahogany double arched door that after 13 years had considerable sun damage on the lower half of the door. Don did a wonderful job of refinishing and matching the finish to the top portion of the door. He then put 4 coats of protective finishes on the door. It looks brand new and we were very satisfied with his work. In fact, we then had him refinish a burled oak library table and I think it looks better than the day I bought it.We highly recommend Don. He was courteous, and professional. always on time and an excellent craftsman.

We were so pleased with the results of the seven pieces of furniture we had refinished/restored. From beginning to end, the process was painless. They were prompt to come and evaluate the pieces, price the work and load the furniture. It was finished before the projected date and it was like opening a Christmas present to see the finished results. The family pieces looked wonderful and the distressed painted piece looks like new (how they blended the paints so seamlessly to match the other half of the pair is amazing), and our dining table looks better and more natural than it did when we bought it. The cherry grain is now showing through and it is a natural finish rather than the polished sheen of yesteryear. We will definitely call again if we have more pieces that need to be done. I would highly recommend Old Virginia Woodworking.
