I then signed a contract to install gutters....complete opposite experience. Three weeks turned into 5, then 6, then seven.. After contacting them 4 times, they still couldn't give a start date. 7 weeks later, I'm looking for a new contractor.

Baber just installed our new roof, and couldn't recommend them more! It took a bit because we were dealing with insurance, but they came out more than once for estimates, and even took over dealing with our insurance company so we could get what we needed. The 2nd visit he came out with our insurance people and spent nearly 2 hours going over what needed to be fixed...our estimate went from a few shingles needing replaced to a new roof, and we got it covered too! They got the roof done in a day, it looks great, and even put our Christmas decorations back where they were in the yard. Thanks guys!

I narrowed my choices down to two local contractors and Baber Enterprises was the one I ended up choosing. I am certainly glad that I went with them. Job was unexpectedly faster than I had hoped and they were super fast in replacing my roof. One of the busiest times due to storms. I called on Friday to have roof flashing fixed. I wanted to avoid issue with heavy rain coming. Let's just say they had a long day and I have to admit I gave up at 8pm........however they did stop after being in Broadway all day and fixed it like magic. I never even heard them. Angels. I decided to use Baber for repairs to my home after tornado damage to the roof, siding, gutter and aluminum trim. Baber was very responsive to my needs and concerns. The job Forman, CW, is amazing. He stayed in constant contact while work was be completed and followed up after work completion to ensure our home was as good or better than before the storm. Nick did the gutters and we love them. He did great work and completed the job faster than expected. Abrahon and his team completed the siding and metal work at an amazing speed and high quality of work. Based on our experience with Baber and the employees that completed the work we will use Baber when our next need arises.Don't trust these storm chaser repair companies that drop by your house after a severe weather event. Especially ones from out of state. Go with a company that is solid in the area and will be there when you need them. The work and workers get 5 stars. I rated 4 because it took several calls (and months) to get on the schedule after the initial quote visit. Also had to sign that I knew the work was not guaranteed.as they don't warrant standing seamed roof work as I was handing them the check. Was so caught off guard at the moment it ruined an otherwise good experience.

My family owns a Lindal Home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The home is 19 years old and the original architectural shingles had been destroyed by the winter freeze thaw cycle. Because of the harsh conditions, we elected to go with a standing seam metal roof for increased longevity. Our search for a metal roofing contractor started with recommendations from a few people in the local area and searching internet reviews. Most notably, I reached out to a local custom home builder that is regarded as one of the best in the area. I was very familiar with several of their projects and quality of construction. Without hesitation, the owner recommended Baber Enterprises of Staunton, Virginia. Because I had managed multiple new construction and renovation projects in the past, I requested bids from Baber Enterprises and several other contractors from Charlottesville to Harrisonburg. To put it simply, the price points for some of those bids were absolutely ridiculous and could not be justified in cost per square. With bids in hand, I then asked for previous roofing job site addresses to see firsthand the quality of work and skilled craftsmanship that each roofing contractor provided. At this point our decision was easily made! It was Baber Enterprises of Staunton, Virginia.We elected to go with a 24-gauge standing seam metal roof for longevity and to minimize what is often referred to as “oil canning”. Because our home has a steep pitched roof (12/12), we also chose a 1- ½” seam height for a more modern appearance. The project from start to finish took almost two months because of the complexity of the roof and numerous penetration points. The finished result was absolutely beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. Craftsmanship in their metal work and attention to detail such as roof pan/standing seam symmetry across the roof was absolutely perfect. What minor issues arose during the course of the project were always resolved to our complete satisfaction. Baber is the best in the business! They are a family-owned business and proud of what they do. You can save yourself the time and effort, just go with Baber Enterprises. These guys are amazing! I have never seen a crew that was so in sync. Not a wasted movement or moment. It was like watching a symphony. I had many nooks and levels of roofing and two fireplaces, etc. They did it all. While some of the crew were on the roof, the others were preparing the shrubs and ground below, going around with a magnet to find loose nails, hand picking up old roofing pieces. They were respectful of the lawn with their trucks so as not to leave ruts. I can’t say enough good things about this company. And, as I watched another company put on a roof down the block I knew everything that was NOT done under the shingles that will make a difference in a few years. I saw them leave the whole roof cleaned of shingles at once and then left overnight with no protection against weather. Baber did a great job on my roof, from beginning to end. They hired and supervised a company to remove the original asbestos shingles from my 1930s home. They were responsive, professional, and completed the project in a timely fashion. It has been 2 years since the installation, and I’ve had ZERO problems, including during some of our crazy wind storms. I highly recommend them for any of your roofing needs. They didn’t know what color of roof I ordered, almost missed the electric company as they had to bring the needed part, didn’t use their local team but brought in a crew from NC in a mad rush. The Baber lead guy acted like he was on cocain & I heard him tell the lead Mexican man that he had a little something, something for him if he needed it. My new gutter guards got messed up & after complaining about them the Baber man came back & fixed them. Then last summer when we had that major storm come through I had a huge oak tree come down hitting the corner of my house. I only asked for a rough estimate based on pictures for my insurance. They knew I bought my roof with them & they rudely said they were only replacing whole roofs & weren’t doing repairs. I only needed an estimate as I had extra roof tiles. They refused to give me one.
