Our experience with TopGable was during a huge undertaking with multiple contractors for replacing old Knob & Tubing wiring in our home. So many contractors were contacted for different phases of the project.For removal and installation of Attic Insulation TopGable stood out from the pack during the process. TopGable was great to work with, start to finish. I heard about them from a general contractor friend who also sung their praises. They quickly responded to my call for an estimate (not the case with all contractors in this hot construction market), they visited soon after my call, turned around an estimate in no time (with a lot of helpful details), and patiently answered all my questions and adjusted the bid when I found some additional work I needed done. This was not an easy job they took on- I needed my house roof removed and replaced, my shed, and also my garage (that I share with a neighbor) roofs replaced. I also needed a chimney removed and replaced with a metal vent which required coordination with my mechanical contractor- they did a great job with this. After signing the agreement, they added me to their schedule (they're in demand, so they were a few weeks out), but it didn't take long and it was our turn. TopGable was clear about what I needed to do to be ready for their roofing team to start and they arrived on the first day and commenced to remove my old roof. They brought a big team and removed the old roof quickly. I could see them checking the condition of the decking and replacing it with new wood where necessary. The roof was overdue for replacement, but hadn't leaked, so I had been putting it off , but I wish I had done this sooner. The new roof not only looks great, but doing a bit of online roof research, I can see some technical improvements TopGable made- my old valleys just had a depression of roof tiles, but they replaced them with flashing channels to guide the water away. The backdrop to all this was the forecast showed snow arriving at the end of the week and they had set aside a week for this work. I know that they could have installed underlayment and waited a week for the weather to pass, but instead, they pressed on in advance of the snow, probably cut a day off their schedule, and had us all completed and cozy a few hours before the snow arrived. After the snow melted, we could see all the great roofing work and the good condition they left our yard in. TopGable was such a pleasure to work with - I only wish I could use them for different kinds of house projects, but I know this roof is going to last me for decades, so that's a nice consolation prize. They did a complete re-roof for us in a timely, professional manner. Re-flashed everything properly and added new vents and valleys, and replaced sheathing only where necessary.The crew worked until 7 or 8 PM to finish what they started over the course of 2.5 days (2 layers of old comp roof to tear off) and cleaned up after themselves as well.Most important, the process was right!
