We worked with Leroy, Amy, and Travis (project lead) on a set of remodel projects that I would say fall under the "smaller" category, and had a great experience. There were some structural aspects that came up and Leroy made sure an engineer came out to take a look and we felt like this was a great example of ensuring that the project was done correctly without cutting corners.

We used Boren construction to build a new house on Whidbey Island on a 5-acre piece of undeveloped land. Everything had to be done as there were no services on the property. Boren handled all the construction, construction management, placing the house for optimal water & mountain view, and helping with finish selections. Boren was very transparent on the costs. The house was largely built during the pandemic, and this added additional challenges that were thoughtfully handled. The finished house was to a very high-quality standard. LeRoy and his team were professional, sensitive to our wants, quality focused, and had a culture of customer first; that our satisfaction was the top priority. Based on a recommendation from a co-worker, we hired LeRoy Boren to help us with a feasibility study prior to purchasing our property in Greenbank in 2018. LeRoy’s knowledge of the island and local contacts proved invaluable in making our decision to proceed with building our new home. After receiving estimates from a couple of other builders, we chose Boren Construction largely based on LeRoy’s responsiveness and professionalism.Throughout each step of the design/build process, LeRoy has a great team of people in place and an online tracking system to ensure that the entire project was expertly managed. Beginning with the design phase, LeRoy coordinated the efforts of an Architect, Geotechnical Engineer, Structural Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, and a septic system designer to produce the construction documents necessary for permitting and construction. We had ready access through the online portal to review and comment on the development of these documents.By the Spring of 2020, we were all set to begin building when COVID hit. Due to the associated uncertainties, our first inclination was to pause the construction but after a heart-to-heart conversation with LeRoy, he convinced us to proceed as soon as the State allowed new construction. During this wait, we were able to pre-select our finishes, fixtures, and appliances. Boren’s on-staff selection coordinator suggested options as we worked with all their vendors and tracked our selections through the online portal.We were able to get started in June and we are so glad we trusted LeRoy’s judgement. Although our lumber package cost a bit more than originally estimated, months later it would have cost more than double. Even with supply chain issues and worker absenteeism due to COVID, our new home was completed in a little over a year thanks to LeRoy’s many connections on the island. Seeing our dream home become a reality was a ray of hope in otherwise dismal times.Throughout construction Boren’s on-staff site superintendent monitored the progress for potential problems and proactively suggested solutions. All the sub-contractors were polite, courteous, and professional and the site was always well organized and kept clean which earned the praise of our neighbors. When some mechanical system issues arose, LeRoy resolved them fairly and equitably.Having worked in various capacities in the construction industry in the greater Seattle area since the mid-eighties, it is refreshing to find someone of LeRoy’s caliber on Whidbey Island. The quality of craftmanship and level of finishes of our home far exceeded our expectations thanks to LeRoy and the Boren Construction team.Service: New home construction

Boren Construction build a beautiful custom home for us on Whidbey Island. The quality and craftmanship are of the highest quality. The project was competed long distance as we lived and worked in California at the time. LeRoy and Amy were exceptional to work with. As this is our first home, we had a lot of questions. LeRoy, Amy, and the entire Boren team were super patient with us, answered all our questions, and communicated with us throughout the entire building process. The use of the Co-Construct online helped us keep track of the process and what decisions needed to be made and when. Amy was excellent to work with and helped us make big decisions easily. She is super organized, kind and patient. We can’t say enough about all their support, communication, and professionalism throughout the entire process. LeRoy, Amy, and Travis continued to support us after we moved in. I could contact the office and talk with them anytime.
