It gets five out of five for a motel along a rural stretch of HWY 2. I slept much better here than I have in some spendier hotels. Clean. Functional. Quiet. Excellent mattress! AC works (it was 103 out). Karen, the owner does all the work. She is a welcoming down-to-earth host.

Our 4 or 5 day stay at the Ala Cozy Motel was an absolute joy. The vintage charm of this little old school motel is genuine and warm, and the rooms are reminiscent of staying in a relative's guest room, but with a few extra amenities. Our trim was comfortable and cozy, stocked with two high-quality remote-controlled cabinet style quartz space heaters (on wheels): they are my favorite heat source in a hotel or motel room, ever! After working all day in wet, very cold, and muddy conditions, these heaters were just the thing.Our host was extremely accommodating, she gave us our choice of rooms she had available, told us what each room had, and happily let us see each so we could choose.We got a real-life metal key on a keychain, and paid a flat rate that included whatever taxes and fees, very reasonable, 75 bucks. We felt very welcomed but also had plenty of privacy for our whole stay! Checkout was incredibly simple and laid back, SO nice!We really look forward to visiting again!

I was a little disappointed, mainly because of the glowing reviews that I had read.What you will definitely like...I agree with all of the recent reviews, the owner and proprietor is a very sweet woman.The location of this motel is very central if you're planning to visit steamboat rock or dry falls state parks.There is a convenient mini-mart and small restaurant in the motel parking lot.Good heat. Heater warmed up the room fast.What you might not like so much...No covid-19 precautions. No mask wearing during check-in. No mask wearing wearing by hotel staff anywhere on the property. This means the room was cleaned by someone who might have been breathing covid-19 all over the fixtures. Anyone kind enough to travel and support small businesses during a global pandemic deserves the respect of mask wearing.No housekeeping during two-night stay.Room was relatively clean on check in, but there were some issues. When I went to use the coffee cups, I found hair in each one.Overall the bathroom was clean but there was a crevice of scum around the bathtub. It was obviously an old bathtub shower. Where the shower walls met up with the bathtub there was about 30 years of built-up slime stored in the crevice. If you took a bath and you leaned your head back against the wall, your hair would be absorbing the scum.In a nutshell...This place definitely has great potential. But it definitely needs a serious remodel. Most of the recent online reviews build it up as a retro sort of lodging experience. My experience wasn't so much retro as it was old and worn.

We pulled in sleepy and happy to have a room... 11:30pm Friday night. The woman that checked us in was sleepy too because I woke her up!!! Sorry!!! Thank you very much for a clean "ala cozy" room!!! Great place!

I give this place 5 stars. Coulee city is a small town located in magical Grant County. You are not in a big city with a lot of options. I think the owners do what they can to be there for you, keep the place up as best as you can really expect for a small town. your neighbors will likely be friendly hunters or fishermen. The Motel is located next door to the iconic Big Wallys. food, booze, snacks. In town you'll find a friendly small bar and grill. The last stand. Small market near the restaurant, small friendly hardware store that carries more than just hardware. But back to Al A Cozy, the rooms are cozy. I've enjoyed staying here many times. Tons of parking. easy hook ups for your boat batteries. So much to do in the local area you'll be so exhausted you'll easily accept you are in a small town motel, not the Wynn in Las Vegas.

We drove all day from Cougar Washington, near Mt St Helens, to spend the day at The Grand Coulee Dam area. It really was a clean, cozy room with a coffee maker, microwave and a mini-fridge. Only drawback was thin walls but our neighbors were fishermen so they retired early.

We have two dogs and we got. A room around midnight and was shocked by how the owner flipped out,because. Our wolf jumped up onto the bed and she had seen our wolf doing this and complaind saying ,"c'mon we gotta clean these rooms ,& your dam lucky i was up ,otherwise youd be sleeping in your car." we complied into her complaint, because were in our late 60's.

New owner as of 2020. Karen is friendly and helpful. Convenient location next door to gas station and restaurant. Very close to Banks Lake boat launch. Easy for us to maneuver car and trailer. Our unit was clean and a good value.
