We are very pleased with the remodel projects that GrantThompson Construction completed on our home. We had both bathrooms updated as well as all flooring except for one room. Grant was very accommodating in juggling our schedules and working with the flooring company we hired. We didn't feel stressed at all. My Spouse and I knew what to expect and which trades were coming on specific days. Grant kept in touch with us on every step of the way. We contacted 3 different contractors and only Grant Thompson followed through with getting us quotes when he said he said he would and when Grant said he would be stopping over he was true to his word. If we ever need a contractor again we will call Grant Thompson Construction because he is trustworthy, fair, honest and true to his word. My wife and I wanted to have our basement finished - complete with a full bathroom, a bedroom and an entertainment area. I sought out multiple quotes for the project and Grant Thompson was favorably priced compared to others. Quality was top of mind and after meeting and talking with Chris, the project manager, I had no concerns. His attention to detail is incredible and he cares immensely about the quality of his work. I sketched out an idea for a media wall, shared it with him and he made it happen, while also improving upon my idea. It looks awesome. Complete with 2 55” TVs set into the wall with shelving on either side, and an 8 ft electric fireplace. Absolutely love it.They subcontracted out most of the work, but they are very particular about who they work with. They don’t just find a random, cheap subcontractors and risk the quality of their projects on chance. All of the subcontractors I met with were excellent and personable people, and exceeded expectations in terms of quality.The only critique I had, which I shared with them, was confirming the start date for the project. Initially said they would start in February. Then as February began, they said they would start in a week or two. As February came and went, it became mid to end of March. I told them I understand schedules can shift due to unforeseen circumstances, but I was disappointed that it kept getting pushed back. They apologized and responded back with a firm date in March, and they started on that exact date. From that point on, they kept me in the loop on everything so I was never left wondering. Great communicators and very responsive. And the project finished right on time.If I ever need another remodeling project completed, the first call I am making is to Grant Thompson.Service: Basement remodeling

They did a bathroom gut and renovation for me. They did a wonderful job and once they laid out the schedule, they stuck to it. Like any reno there we issue along the way (additional demo, additional lights, scuffing to walls, etc) but they addressed each issue promptly and professionally. We ended up slightly over the initial estimate but they were fully transparent when there were cost adders letting us know right away. They constantly made sure we were getting what we wanted and did not push us to just get the job done. I would recommend them and would use them again for future renovations.

Grant's crew completely remodeled our basement this summer. Our experience from top to bottom was great. We had framing done, drywall installed and plastered, new flooring put in, all new electrical, plumbing and HVAC rerouted and added on to our bathroom with a shower and custom cabinet added. The work was done in a timely fashion and everything was done with great quality. Communication with Tina was great and Chris did a great job as well. I had my kitchen completely remodeled by Grant Thompson Construction, along with new ceilings and hardwood floors installed throughout my house. They did an excellent job and the final results came out looking great – it’s like living in a new house! The subcontractors they selected all did great work, they all showed on time and were professional. Working with my project managers Ron and Chris was great – they kept me informed all along the way of any changes and had the entire project under control. Working with Tina on scheduling and costs went great as well – in the end, some contractors were a bit higher or lower cost but the total cost came out as expected – no surprises! We had our kitchen remodeled by Grant’s crew and the experience was much more pleasant than we expected. Chris, the project mgr, was very professional and easy to work with. My parents had Grant Thompson Construction do a complete kitchen and half-bath remodel in their condo. The final results were beautiful! The entire crew was very accommodating and professional. My parents are both elderly and had concern about COVID and having the contractors in the house, but they took great care to require everyone coming in to mask up. Our kitchen remodel was our first major renovation and we're so glad we decided to go with Grant Thompson Construction. We had many questions in each phase of the process and their team was always prompt, reassuring, knowledgeable, and organized.They were patient with us through the planning phase (since this was our first big project and we were making sure we took our time on decisions) and never pressured us to move things along. Once we did get the schedule set, everything was very organized and timely. It was so nice to have everything scheduled for us so we didn't have to coordinate it ourselves. Like all projects, there were a few minor hiccups, but they always had our best interest in mind, took initiative to find a solution, and always delivered above and beyond.They worked with us to stay within our budget and even though our small kitchen (which they helped expand and make more functional) wasn't their biggest project, we still felt like valued customers and well taken care of. Very pleased with the experience - end to end.Longer Version:The Grant Thompson team did an exceptional job on our Kitchen Rennovation and several other related updates in our home through the first 1/3 of 2022.From the beginning, they expressed enthusiasm for our job and went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience with everyone involved in the project. We felt like a top priority to the Grant Thompson team, the communication was consistent and clear. Chris, Tina and Dan paid very close attention to delivering what was important to us and made several great suggestions on details we had not considered that were ultimately incorporated and look/work great. They even went out of their way to pull in an HVAC company (in the dead of winter) on very short notice when we needed help installing our new boiler - a side project that wasn’t even initially scoped for our renovation.I could go on. From the time we first met with Grant we felt like we were his only client. He worked with us to create a plan that was within our budget and fit an agreed upon timeline. His crew members were prompt, respectful, experienced and extremely professional. The interior design team gave great ideas that we loved. The trim work person gave us exactly what we asked for. The painter took extra care with our wall mounted TV, and did a beautiful job. The flooring team were on a mission to get the job done the moment they entered the door, and the finished product was wonderful. The quartz countertop installers were careful to protect the new floors. The plumber that installed the new sink and the electrician that installed the new light fixtures worked well to coordinate with the other professionals for the next step in the process. The exterior work we had done went well too. The new door and aluminum work are just perfect. Through the entire remodel, Grant was just a phone call or text away. He was present on the first day the job started as well as the day of completion. He stopped in after each step to be sure we were pleased, and also to be sure his standards were being met. We plan to use Grant Thompson Construction in the future for additional projects.

UPDATED 05/2023Grant and his team took our 1960's kitchen and brought it into the 21st century. We had the soffits removed and went with new cabinets all the way to the ceiling. We didn't stop there, they removed old pocket doors and opened up dining area, removed old rubber trim work (which they matched with the original trim and stain throughout the house from 1960), removed old flooring, original lighting and plumbing. Be sides the new upper and lower cabinets we added quartz countertops by Cambria, dishwasher and backsplash throughout kitchen area.To say we are happy is an understatement.2023Had Grant's crew back for a major over haul of the basement. Relocated laundry room, added a second full bathroom and added a bedroom. Chris added some beautiful custom mill work to finish off my rec-room. When basement was finished they moved up to the main floor and remodel the upstairs bathroom. Chris and Dan go above and beyond when it comes to the job. I worked with Grant Thompson Construction to remodel two bedrooms where we removed some existing standard closets and transformed the rooms to have walk-in closets. First thing I'd say is they were very professional to work with at all times. I've worked with several local contractors in the past. Grant Thompson by far has had the best communication of any local contractor I've worked with (which I very much appreciated). They provided frequent updates and were very friendly. Sometimes even contacting me on weekends to keep things on track. Overall they were great to work with. Even the subs they used were great to work with. Everyone was always on time and very courteous. And the quality of their work met my expectations without any real problems to speak of. Any time something did come up, it was always brought to my attention immediately where we discussed it before any decision or action was made (usually related to design considerations or ideas....not usually unforeseen problems). As for costs, I'd say it ended up being more than I had hoped for. At the same time it wasn't wildly higher than I had expected. That might have just been me underestimating what the effort would take. And to that end, sometimes you get what you paid for and I wanted it done right. At the end of the day I have no regrets about going with Grant Thompson. I was very happy with the outcome and process to get there from start to finish. I would recommend and use Grant Thompson Construction again for remodeling work if the need ever arises again.Services: Remodeling, Drywall installation

Grant Thompson Construction did a large kitchen remodel and addition (2 bedrooms) on our house. The craftsmanship of the project was amazing. Chris is a fantastic carpenter and custom-built our massive island.We, unfortunately, experienced a large turnover of staff within the company which delayed our project extensively. Most sub-contractors were awesome (drywaller, painter, flooring, countertops, and concrete). The electrician (Packerland Electric) should NOT be hired again. The number of mistakes the electrician made and items not ordered in a timely manner was incredibly frustrating and ultimately delayed our final project.Grant and Tina were professional, courteous, and great communicators throughout the whole job. My project was a small master bath, total tear-out and remodel as well as updates to a main bath and carpet replacement in the bedroom and hallway. Grant Thompson and his crew were extremely easy to work with and offered suggestions on ways to save money, as well as pro's and cons of different ideas and products.They were very flexible with my schedule and any last minute additions/changes.While it did end up costing more than I originally budgeted, that was all my doing as once I got out there and shopped for the look I wanted, it ended up costing more than I thought, but Grant and his crew certainly delivered more than I expected as well.I would highly recommend Grant Thompson Construction, and I'm sure I'll have them back to do other projects in the future.
