We hired Jake to install LP Smartside back in August 2022 with the project starting late September. It was supposed to take 3-4 days originally, then 2 weeks, but ended up taking almost 4 months! He told me he would have two of his “employees” that are carpenters make sure the job is done correctly. Turns out, one of those employees recommended his uncle (the second employee) who is actually a sub-contractor). After weeks of work either not being completed, days where no one showed up, and terrible quality (incorrect spacing, wrong nails, install specs not being followed, uneven laps of siding, etc.) I told Jake that I didn’t want them back at my house doing anymore work. He needed to find someone else. A few weeks later, I had another crew start my siding project. They had to tear off all the existing work, as it was installed incorrectly. Everything started out fine with the new crew, until there would be days where no one showed and having lack of material (more had to be ordered after the first crew). The sub had a 2nd sub do some work, who happened to be very knowledgeable and helpful. Honestly, the only reason the project was salvageable was do to him. Fast forward to January and the siding is finally completed, albeit some areas needing touch ups. Specifically, wrong colored caulk was used because Jake couldn’t find the the correct color, nails heads needing paint, caulk not curing properly. I was supposed to be contacted and have my touchups scheduled by Jake by April 15th when the weather warmed up. I contacted Jake and the 2nd sub to have some buckling issues fixed a few weeks before hand. The 2nd sub came out to fix those. A few weeks later, I again contacted Jake and the 2nd sub for a crack and a couple issues with the gap between some pieces of siding that expanded. Jake said he’ll have him fix it. The 2nd sub refused because Jake didn’t pay him everything he owed from my project and another few others. Jake said he would have someone else fix it, but here we are, almost a month and a half later and it’s not fixed and I never received my touch up.This whole process was miserable. Originally Jake was a likeable person, seemed ambitious, and wanting to do a good job. All a hoax. He NEVER answers the phone despite saying he prefers calls because he’s always driving. Doesn’t respond to text messages, and always has an excuse as to why he didn’t respond (ie. Wedding, sporting events, he’s sick, car issues etc.) Apparently his phone doesn’t work during those times also despite being a business owner. He is slightly cheaper than other contractors. He talked the talk and we thought we would give him a shot because he was eager to do a good job. Boy were we wrong. Unfortunately, it had to come to this as I don’t write bad reviews. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and plenty of time to fix the issues, but it looks like this will have to go the legal route. Buyer beware!

Was hired by Jacob’s business. 2 separate projects.Long story short $20,000 is owedHas been non responsive and evasive when confronted with the issue.Poor communication, lack of experience, doesn’t have the capital to run a business like this. He only sells the jobs and hires contractors to do them, banking on being able to covers costs with down payments from home owners.Would not recommend unfortunately. I have chance after change and tried to understand.

One of the worst contractors I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. Not only has this “contractor“ been dodging payments of $20,000 for work rendered almost 2 months ago; he also continues to dodge any contact. And when contact is made it’s filled with lies deceitfulness and just downright disrespect. We’ve been forced to take legal action in order to receive said payment. I advise you to steer completely clear from this company. Save yourself a headache and hire a professional that actually knows how to do the work and not just push pencils.

I hired him to do 2 screen replacements over 3 month a ago. He has not answered my inquiries lately. When he did answer he always came up with a story about being in vacation or something else. Looks like I am our $800 dollars. Hopefully small claims court can help. I should have known better that at my age paying up front before the work is done.Service: General window replacement
