Jacob came to look at roof quickly when it was hard to get anyone else to even call back or come out to look because of recent storm damage in the area. He worked with our insurance to get the claim approved. The work was completed quickly after we signed a contract. He was very good at making us feel comfortable with choosing his company for install. So all good to start. Now the bad. Will push you to sign a contract so you can’t get other quotes or go with someone else. In this case great job by him but my suggestion is to get other quotes and ask lots of questions. Make sure you know if you’re hiring an installation company or general contractor. Keep in mind I didn’t see Jacob installing any shingles or verifying by reviewing if all installation meets the warranty requirements of installation by the shingle company that he states his company is certified to install. To my knowledge he never went on roof at anytime other than to look at the original storm damage on the roof. He came to quote and pick up payment only. The crew installing came in from Texas. We were told he had the same crew for 7 years but it seems they aren’t his employees but rather a contracted group. We had to clean up quite a bit after installation (bags, shingles, lots of nails, staples). Jacob never supplied us with the warranty information he talked so highly of at original consult. We had months of no response or I’ll bring it to you next week when we would call. We finally got it and it was dated for the day he brought it to us which was months after install. Would the warranty have ever been registered if we didn’t push for documentation? We had a roof cap issue as well that our twin home neighbors had a hard time getting a return call on. Then the will be there this day but call and can’t make it after. It did get fixed but not without a lot of follow ups to make it happen. The bad for us seemed to overcome the good. It’s to bad because if you only read the top of my review it is a 5 star rating but the bottom of the review is what stuck with us the most.

I LOVE the shingle color that was recommended (Owens Corning Summer Harvest). Great River Roofing was very professional in working with the insurance company and insurance claim. I DID NOT think we would get approved with the wind damage we had. The work was done professionally and efficiently. The clean up when the job was done was absolutely SPOTLESS! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company-particularly if you have an insurance claim!

A job WELL DONE!! Very professional, on time and jobsite was cleaned better then before they even got there! My kids loved watching the crew. Everything was right on per the estimate. We even received a slight discount as the price of shingles dropped a little from when quoted. They did not have to pass on the savings, but they did! Jacob responded immediately to our request for a quote. His pricing included some cosmetic fixes to some trees that overhung the roof. In addition his team replaced some siding on our chimney that had rotted over 38 years. They made an extra effort to match the color perfectly. All of this while being the most competitive bid we received. He was very responsive and accommodating to all of our requests. The roof looks great and we love the guaranteee which is transferable if we sell the house and will probably outlast us. We’d definitely hire them again.

Had a tree thump the roof and damage siding on my cabin this summer. Emailed Jacob and he responded quickly and pretty much took over dealing with the insurance company and handled everything perfectly and timely. Roof looks great! Definitely recommend Great River Roofing!

Working with Great River Roofing and Jacob was by far the easiest experience I have ever had regarding contractors. Jacob was professional and handled working with the insurance company to make sure my needs were met. After he inspected my roof he immediately began work on a claim. When the adjuster arrived he helped in explaining the details of the damage and what would need to be done to repair my roof. His work crew came in and completed the job so quickly I was astonished. Jacob and his team were great to work with! We found a leak in our ceiling, called Jacob and he was at our house within an hour to discuss our options. I got a great value and I'm super happy with my new roof install. They did a good job communicating overall before and after the install to answer all my many questions. They picked up all the old shingle and nails and debris when they finished. The price was much lower compared to 2 other quotes I got in Onalaska/La Crosse and they made my house look much better.

Apparently I'm not alone! I should never have had Great River Roofing come and do our new roof.This is a long story. There are countless things that happened that should have made me not have GRR as our contractor, but for some reason I always give him the benefit of the doubt & I was too nice. Now, one year later, our vent cap has come off of our brand new roof.Back when we had some hail damage, our insurance company said they'd cover a new roof- great! We happened to ask GRR to come and give us a quote. By the end of it, he was pressuring us to sign an agreement that we'd have him fix it. Strike one- I shouldn't have ignored the feeling of pressure.Then, he kept pushing our date back. First is was "we can come out in a week!" then it was two weeks, on and on until it was finally completed over two months later. Calling at 8pm to ask if they could come the next day (thank goodness I had the option to work from home at a moment's notice...), then calling the next day to say they aren't coming. Then never returning calls. Then when he would call back, it was to tell me OK, We can come tomorrow! Always short notice and always terrible communication. Then he'd say they weren't coming for a week.One time, his crew actually came and started doing work, despite him having told me they weren't going to! And then when he finally got a hold of his crew, they had to stop and cover our roof with tarps! Tarps! Until they could come back and finish! What?! So our roof was half-mangled and torn up, left to the elements of late fall, when I really did not have a good track record to go off of to know if he'd ever come back! Good thing I was actually home that day, otherwise I would've come home from work to a destroyed roof and nothing to be said for fixing it!All of this is to say, that when all FINALLY got finished, we were glad to be rid of GRR and done with the job. Then we had a baby, life was good, and a year flew by, so I forgot to write the review I had planned.Well, now I have a reason. In a recent storm, our roof's vent caps ripped off (apparently a common complaint, I see...), and it has brought back all of the anxiety, anger, frustration, and annoyance with this company all over again.Please, if you have ANY other option, do not go with Great River Roofing as your roofing contractor. This review is literally just the tip of the iceberg of all the reasons/frustrations/complaints I could list. I want better experiences for others out there looking for roofing repair.

Great River Roofing was great from the get-go. Walked the roof, on the roof not on the ground; checked attic for insulation and leaks; delivered a detailed estimate, more comprehensive than the others who quoted; finished in two days and returned for some touch-ups that they pointed out needed attention. No worries with these guys.

They had a quick turnaround. The workers were wonderful and extremely hard working. It rained the day they were supposed to come finish (they only peeled off what they could cover the previous day) and they were there within a few minutes after the rain stopped to finish the job. Called and got a response from Tiffany, Here's the email I received.(We would consider doing this job later in the year, we are helping people with insurance estimates. We’re doing work at this time for the insurance cost.)I called my insurance adjuster about this and was told that this does not sound right and I should at least get the quote I have asked for and on top of that this is an insurance claim.
