Jay came by and offered a free inspection after a bad hail storm. He found significant damage and swiftly help me get a quote and arranged a 3 party conversation with my insurance company. As soon as the weather cooperated, the ME crew came by and installed a new roof. They removed all debris and I was left with a new roof and a greater appreciation of my home. Modern Exterior did my gutter guards recently. Salesman was incredibly nice and more than knowledgeable. The “Gutter Gekko” gutter guards are amazing! Not a single piece of debris has gotten into my gutters since installation. Turnaround time was surprisingly quick and job was finished in a couple of hours. Good News: They did some work...that deserves 2 starsBad News: The work they did deserves 2 starsI am glad that everyone else had a great experience. That was not my experience with Modern Exterior.First, the appointment was scheduled at noon on Friday. The tech showed up at 3 pm. I requested a simple gutter repair. I was informed on the phone that the work seemed minimal; however, there is a minimal charge, so the tech would perform some maintenance, as part of the repair. I was really impressed...at first.The tech did the small repair, and probably did the maintenance on about 1/5 of the gutters. I saw the tech walk around the house looking up and the gutters and I recognized the look...it was time to start the weekend... actually, if he would have done good work on the simple gutter repair, I wod have been very satisfied without the "maintenance."Well, here I am...and the repair was insufficient. It has failed. I contacted the company...and, wait for it...they blamed "the trees"...no really. If the expert thought the trees were too close to the gutter, II would have had them pruned. But, the company made this assessment from my cell phone picture taken on the ground up to the second story exterior gutter without bothering you come out and look.Oh, by the way...I have contacted Modern Exterior, and I am still waiting follow-up. I was referred to Modern Exterior by a friend and neighbor who hired them for a roof repair. They were very impressed with Tyler and satisfied with the quality of the work, so I decided to get a quote to install gutters around a bay window. Tyler was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. The quote was reasonable and the work was started within a week or two. Tyler and his team worked very hard to ensure that we were completely satisfied with the job. They even came back after I had paid the bill to address a concern I had. Not many contractors would put in that about of time and effort to make sure a customer was happy (especially for a relatively small job and after the bill was already paid). Charlie was excellent!!! He inspected the roof and said you need a replacement because of wind/storm damage. He also helped get the ball rolling on filing an insurance claim to cover the damage. He went over what was going to be done and the materials that was to be used. The roofers also did a great job installing the roof and cleaning the gutters. In addition, thank you Modern Exterior for the Gutter Guard install. Once the roof was finished, Tyler came to ask how everything went and explained what's covered. I definitely recommend Modern Exterior for any roofing job to be done.
