We are on a road trip and drove into Ten sleep at 9pm, we called the Carter inn to see if they had a room for us, as a family of 4. I am so happy we stayed here, we are driving from Georgia to Washington State, and this is by far, the best place we have stayed for the night. The details the owners have put into this motel, go noticed and are appreciated, from the little chocolates in our room, to the little rubber duck in the bathroom, the rooms are so clean, the beds and bedding are comfortable, breakfast is: coffee with all the fixings, bagels, English muffins, fresh baked bread, homemade jam, butter, cereal, oatmeal, and eggs made to order and sausage. Our best stay in this trip and I am so glad we had the opportunity to come to the Carter inn. Thank you.

Christa and Kenny are wonderful hosts. They have renovated the motel and made it a great place to rest and refresh. As a native, Christa has extensive knowledge of the local area. Breakfast is homemade and cooked to order. Christa makes a delicious sour dough bread and serves it with her homemade (excellent!) strawberry preserves. Everything is clean and comfortable. I highly recommend staying at The Carter Inn!Nearby activities: Great places to hike nearbyWalkability: Centrally located in Ten Sleep, very close to gas station, restaurants

A big reason why we had such a wonderful extended weekend in Ten Sleep was the hospitality of Christa and Kenny, and the nice amenities at The Carter Inn. The rooms are very clean and the breakfasts were delicious. The Carter Inn really makes the small town of Ten Sleep an easy place to visit and to explore the area, even for Wyomingites like us. We'll be back!

I will stay here again if I come to ten sleep. The breakfast was the best. It felt like I was trying in a B&B! The owners were so nice and friendly and helpful. We took a wrong turn and got in extra late and they were very accommodating. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of hot water for the shower. The only downside was that the window didn't open. It would have been nice to have a bit of fresh air in the room since the weather was so perfect.

We SO enjoyed our overnight stay in mid June 2023. I believe the couple running the place stated they have been here for two years. They are doing a terrific job! They were pleasant, accommodating, and I enjoyed visiting with them. The rooms are clean and have what is needed. Our king bed was the most comfortable of our entire 10 day vacation. Local artist supplies terrific hand made soap which is also available for purchase. Do not skip her “famous” cookies, nor the fabulous breakfast. Farm fresh eggs, in house made bread and jams rounded out this fabulous meal. I didn’t want to leave! Sorry I forgot to take photos at the Inn.I would go back to Ten Sleep just to chill out at the Carter Inn.Rooms: Very clean.Walkability: One nice little Main Street with everything you need !Food & drinks: There are three bars and one restaurant in town. Also a fun little “general store”. All within walking distance. One has a cute little gift shop inside.Be sure to drive out to the Ten Sleep Brewery if only for the amazing view.

Stayed here in early June on a father/son trip. What a wonderful stay. It was all perfect - everything from the clean rooms, convenient parking, comfortable room amenities, and the genuine kindness and hospitality of the owners. I am glad we stayed for breakfast in the morning as it was a highlight of our stay and a sincere surprise. Nice people like the owners and other guests we met, helped create a memorable trip for us.

We are traveling cross country and stayed here on a whim on our way to Yellowstone. It was an absolutely amazing stay. The rooms have amazing personal touches like homemade local soap, robe, slippers, a little rubber ducky for our kids by the bathtub, super soft sheets, etc. The absolute highlight of our stay was the breakfast. We had homemade scones, breads, eggs, sausages, potatoes, homemade jams, and a variety of other breakfast foods. It was also family style and we had so much fun meeting fellow travelers and of course the fabulous owners! I would absolutely love to stay here again and will be encouraging all of our friends!

The new owners, from a year and a half ago, have made this a fantastic place to stay! Easy parking, nice and clean rooms, recently renovated bathrooms, home made cookies at 3pm! And the best home made breakfast I have ever had! Ken and Krista are so warm and welcoming, we can't wait to come back! Very friendly for rock climbers with climbing close by! And comfy beds for when you are exhausted!

Ten Sleep, WY, a pleasant town of 200 people, is located in some very beautiful country. I stayed in the Carter Inn, and enjoyed it. The couple who run it are very friendly and helpful. A really delicious breakfast is included. The rooms are clean, remodeled, and fairly spacious; the bed was comfortable. As small as Ten Sleep is, there are three restaurants within four short blocks. And an ice cream place of some renown. To the east on US 16 is the beautiful Ten Sleep Canyon. and the Bighorns.

An oasis. Great service, clean and updated rooms. We stayed here while doing the WYBDR and it was perfect. The breakfast is homemade and fabulous with fresh fruit and homemade bread. Lots of nice extra touches like free ice cream popsicles, chocolates in the room and water bottles. Highly recommend. Run by the owners and you can tell they care that you have a good experience.

This quaint motel is a great place to stay in a great small community with a lot to offer. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfy. The homemade breakfast that was offered was outstanding! Our kids enjoyed the games they had in their yard as well as the freshly-baked cookies at check-in. Very nice place and highly recommend!

What a wonderful experience we had, true hospitality. We arrived after 11, and our hosts were happy to help us get checked in and settled despite the late hour. When we woke, they had prepared the most delicious breakfast meal for us; brisket breakfast tacos with farm fresh eggs, homemade churros, homemade bread, local preserves, etc. Phenomenal value and hospitality.

The only place I have stayed at that had comparative attention to detail was The Best Western Las Mercedes. The Carter was quiet, clean, the service was excellent, and do not get me started on the farm fresh homemade breakfast. My only complaint (and it may have been just my room or a second story thing) but they supplied a rubber duckie for the bath, and then no way to plug up the tub! What sort of heinous people supply you with a rubber duckie, and then prevent you from employing it?!?

What a great place to stay. It was all very clean and presented very nicely. Warm people and service, even with an IT issue. You had me at home made cookies in the afternoon! But then the breakfast with the home cooked goodies was amazing. Great people, great service. No need to look anywhere else. I'm already thinking about my next trip to the area. Steve C

There are few words to describe the wonderful experience my fiancé and I had at The Carter Inn. The owners Kenny and Krystal helped us enjoy the small town charm of Tenn Sleep. The room was clean and comfortable with the updated bathrooms and the small personal touches provided. The homemade breakfast and small talk with the other guests made such a wholesome experience that I will never forget. Would 100% come back again just to visit the owners!!

I am constantly on the road, we had to stop because of the snow, The Carter Inn was open year round and more than happy to help us, even without an online reservation. When we got to our room, it was by far the best place we have ever stayed at. Robes, extra blankets, even a cute rubber ducky. The decor was so cute too. The bed was like butter we fell asleep before 8pm. In the morning, they said they had breakfast. They had BREAKFAST! If you get a chance to stay in this gem, do! You will be happy you did.

This place is awesome. I came here with a friend for a climbing trip and didn’t know what to expect. It turns out the new owners are awesome people, very friendly and 100% customer service focused. From delicious breakfasts to warm cookies in the afternoon they go out of their way to make you feel at home. I will definitely stay here in my next trip and recommend it to anyone coming to Ten Sleep. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
